Dante Walker Readathon Kickoff!

Hey, everybody! Today kicks off the readathon Steph from Ohana Reads and I are hosting for the Dante Walker trilogy by Victoria Scott! I posted about this fun little event here, and now I'm going to rehash the details and add a few little updates. WOOT.

 -  The Readathonstarts today and ends on the 16th!

- Through the Readathon, we'll be reading all three books in the series. If you're curious about the reading order, then check this out:
The Collector (Dante Walker, #1)  The Liberator (Dante Walker, #2) The Warrior (Dante Walker, #3)
(All the covers are linked to their Goodreads pages)
- When reading the books, tweet your progress with the hashtag #ReadDanteWalker. Or tweet a favorite (non-spoilery) quote. Or tell us how you adore the eff out of Dante. Just be sure to use the hashtag so we all can see it!

- We will be running a group on Goodreads and a group on Facebook, so there's MORE ways we all can chat about the awesome that is Dante Walker. I'll generally be running the Facebook group, while Steph will hold the reigns of the Goodreads group, but we can both totally join in and help out on either site if we want. It's going to be all kinds of fun!

- There will be giveaways! We have a few super cool swag packs to give away to some lucky winners participating in the Readathon (they will be randomly chosen from Facebook, Goodreads, and Twitter).

- We will have a Twitter chat at the end of the Readathon, on May 16th at 8 PM CST. Victoria Scott will be joining us to answer some questions and give away some swag!

- If you want to only participate in part of the readathon (i.e. you only have time to read The Warrior so you only stick to one book instead of all three, or if you have to join late), that is totally okay! Everyone is welcome. This whole thing is to bring Dante readers together to interact and have some Dante fun. ;)

And that's it! Read some Dante, have some fun, and if you have any questions--any at all--feel free to contact me or Steph and we'll help you out. Pow!

Dante Walker Readathon!

Hello, lovely people! Sorry I've been kind of absent this past week. I was siiiiiick. But I'm past the worst part and on the road to getting better, so I'M BAAAAACK. And I have plans. As you can probably tell from all the readathon talk in the title/at the top of this post. So let's get to it, yes?

As I'm sure you know, seeing as you follow my blog and all, the third and final book in the Dante Walker trilogy is releasing on May 6th. So Steph and I wanted to do something fun to celebrate. THIS IS IT. Stephanie from Ohana Reads and I are going to host a Dante Walker Readathon! WOOT!

The Details:
 -  The Readathon is from May 9th-16th, so there should be enough time for everyone to get their copies of The Warrior and mentally prepare themselves for the awesome.

- Through the Readathon, we'll be reading all three books in the series. I'm not sure how you don't know the reading order by now, given how much I talk about these books, but if you do not know, here they are in order:
The Collector (Dante Walker, #1)  The Liberator (Dante Walker, #2) The Warrior (Dante Walker, #3)

**If you'd like to join the groups now, you can do so: Goodreads | Facebook

- There will be giveaways! We have a few super cool swag packs to give away to some lucky winners participating in the Readathon (they will be randomly chosen from Facebook, Goodreads, and Twitter).

- We will have a Twitter chat at the end of the Readathon, on May 16th! We're still working out specifics (because we want Author Chick--aka Victoria Scott--to be there, right?), but there WILL be more swaggish goodness to give away, and it WILL be a good time.

And that is all! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me or Steph, and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.

I am seriously excited about this, you guys! I LOVE readathons, and I LOVE Dante Walker, so I have, like, double love going on right now. *flails*

Dante Walker Book #3!!!

The V Mafia still exists, y'all know that, right? I just haven't had anything to share on that front recently. UNTIL TODAY.

Yesterday, all of us lucky ducks in the V Mafia family got an email from the ever-lovely Victoria Scott with the blurb for the final Dante Walker book. The synopsis. The description. The overall telling of what is about to go down in a few short months.

Yeah, I cried a little.

Then TODAY, Tera Lynn Childs revealed the title and release date of Dante Walker #3 as part of the YA Scavenger Hunt (which is super fun and something you should totally take part in!).

I may have cried a little more over this.

So here I am, condensing all this information into one post for you because you need to know these things. DANTE IS IMPORTANT.

Okay. So here goes. Are you ready? (I'm kind of not.)

Okay?

Okay.

The Warrior by Victoria Scott
The Warrior (Dante Walker, #3)

Release Date: May 6, 2014
Series: Dante Walker #3
Publisher: Entangled Teen

War between heaven and hell is coming, but Dante Walker makes it look damn good.

Dante’s girlfriend, Charlie, is fated to save the world. And Aspen, the girl who feels like a sister, is an ordained soldier. In order to help both fulfill their destiny and win the war, Dante must complete liberator training at the Hive, rescue Aspen from hell, and uncover a message hidden on an ancient scroll.

Dante is built for battle, but even he can’t handle the nightmares where spiders crawl from Aspen’s eyes, or the look on Charlie’s face that foretells of devastation. To make matters worse, the enemy seizes every opportunity to break inside the Hive and cripple the liberators. But the day of reckoning is fast approaching, and to stand victorious, Dante will have to embrace something inside himself he never has before—faith.

Goodness, y'all. It feels like just yesterday I was changing my Twitter pic to the cover for The Collector and Victoria Scott was telling me she'd love me forever for it. I can't believe this trilogy is coming to an end. So much has happened since I first learned my boy Dante existed. My blog was still a baby then, not even a year old. I was SO HAPPY to get chosen for the first round of members into the V Mafia. And then we were all crossing out fingers, arms, legs, whatever to get chosen for an ARC of book 1. Then we were crossing all those things again to be chosen for the blog tour.

And then I actually read the book and ended up loving Dante Walker waaaaay more than I should. And this began my Victoria Scott obsession. Well. I mean the actual BOOK part of it. I already adored her before that.

Then The Liberator became a thing and I got on the tour and then I got the ARC and OMG OMG OMG. I pretty much died. And now I'm V's assistant and Fire & Flood is becoming a thing, too, and...just...wow. It's so weird to think the final words of Dante have been written. And that in, like, seven months, we'll read them. And...I'm not even sure what I'm trying to say here. These last few paragraphs are totally not necessary. Just me rambling about WHOA TIME FLIES. Ya know? And I'm going to miss Dante. No doubt about that. My boy's one of the best.

Also, Victoria Scott. I just heart you. That's all there is to it.

*BUT BACK TO THE ACTUAL POINT OF THIS POST*

The Warrior.
May 6, 2014.
BLUUUUURB!

What do you think?!

Personally, I'm looking forward to the shenanigans (both goofy and serious) that are about to go down. Goodness knows that whatever goes on, Dante's got it going on in style. I'm sad this is the last book, but I'm also excited to, you know, REEEEAD IIIIIIT!!!! <3

3rd Annual YA Crush Tourney--Team Dante!

Hey, y'all! So you've heard of the YA Crush Tourney, right? I'm fairly positive I posted about it last year at least a little. If you've never heard of it, it is this super cool tournament hosted by the YA Sisterhood where we nominate all our favorite YA book boys (which has already happened this year), and then we vote for them during their matches and hope to goodness that they win.

But there's also another little factor in there, one that some people don't know about. What is that, you ask? THE ADVOCATES.

What is an advocate, you ask? An advocate is a person who supports a book boy and does their very best to get their book boy to win and make it as far in the tourney as they can. Ideally, they win!

Why am I telling you this? Simple.

I am the advocate for Dante Walker!

YES! I get to help out my boy Dante. I am sooooooooo happy about this!

But again, why am I telling you this? Because, you guys. An advocate does not work alone. They need the help of ALL of the Dante fans out there to get him far in this tourney. We need people to make buttons and to tweet and post on facebook and convince EVERYONE to vote for our boy.

So I'm asking for your help. If you want to help me help Dante win his matches and do AWESOME like the AWESOME bad boy he is, fill out this form.

I have pretty much no life. So other than reading and blogging and now Dante-advocating (if advocating is even a word...), I don't plan to be doing much any time soon. So when you sign up on the form, and you check the boxes for it, I will let you know when it is time to vote. I'll let you know how Dante did, or how he's doing (if I know), and if I need someone to help me out with something specific. I understand that it can be hard to keep up with the tourney, and having the links and dates sent to you can be EXTREMELY helpful. So as Dante's advocate, I'm totally willing to send that to you.

Just be sure to fill out the form, okay?

What form? Well, gee. THIS FORM. The form that officially signs you up to be a part of Team Dante!
(I know it's terrible. There will be better ones to come! But until then, this is it!)

UPDATE:
Buttons!

Grab them, use them, love them! They were created by the wonderful, wonderful I Heart Big Books. she is so amazing!

I must thank Kay from K-Books, too, for helping me out. WOOT!

Also, you CAN sign up on the form only to be on the email list. That way, I'll email you when it's time to vote and the links. You don't have to be familiar with Photoshop or anything to sign up--anyone can! Sure, it's cool to have people to help out, but we REALLY need people who are willing to vote!

And that is all for the update. :)

END UPDATE.

All right? I heart you all!

**If for some reason, you have any trouble with the form and want to help out or get updates or ANYTHING, email me directly at makesmeworse12@gmail.com, and I'll send you the form that way.**

2013 Belongs To Dante ♥ Review of The Collector by Victoria Scott!

Hey, y'all! Welcome to my stop on the 2013 Belongs to Dante blog event! Don't even get me STARTED on how pumped I am to be included in this. You will never hear the end of it, trust me. To see all the other lucky ducks on this tour, click HERE! There's a schedule there and everything. Mighty handy, if you ask me. :)

Okay, so. I HAVE A REVIEW! Finally. I've been promising this for forever, right? Geez.

The Collector by Victoria Scott
Release Date: April 2, 2013
Format: ebook, 352 pages
Publisher: Entangled Teen
Series: Dante Walker #1
Source: Publisher for blog tour
Buy It: Amazon | B&N

Description from Goodreads:
He makes good girls...bad.

Dante Walker is flippin’ awesome, and he knows it. His good looks, killer charm, and stellar confidence have made him one of hell’s best—a soul collector. His job is simple: weed through humanity and label those round rears with a big red good or bad stamp. Old Saint Nick gets the good guys, and he gets the fun ones. Bag-and-tag.

Sealing souls is nothing personal. Dante’s an equal-opportunity collector and doesn't want it any other way. But he’ll have to adjust, because Boss Man has given him a new assignment:

Collect Charlie Cooper’s soul within ten days.

Dante doesn't know why Boss Man wants Charlie, nor does he care. This assignment means only one thing to him, and that’s a permanent ticket out of hell. But after Dante meets the quirky Nerd Alert chick he’s come to collect, he realizes this assignment will test his abilities as a collector…and uncover emotions deeply buried.

It is no secret that I have been drooling over this book since the moment I laid eyes on the cover. And then after that, I read the description and I wanted it a bit more. THEN I read a teaser, and wanted it more. And more and more and more things just kept adding up to make me want this book SO. BAD. I seriously wanted to read this book more than any other book before. Possibly even more than Obsidian. If not, then they're tied. I'm not sure. Either way, I've been dying for this book. But then, I got put on the blog tour. And on March 1st, my pretty little eARC appeared in my inbox and I think I lost all sanity for a few minutes. Um, yeah. I freaked OUT.

It was awesome.

Both my freak out AND the book, that is. (Smooth transition, eh?)

The Collector is the kind of book that is 100% worth everything it's getting. It's worth my freak out, it's worth the hype, and it's worth the love. Victoria Scott has written a PHENOMINAL story that is the literal definition of "unputdownable." I'm telling you right now, if you've been anticipating this book since...goodness, FOREVER AGO, then your expectations will be met, if not exceeded. I was blown away by this book. Seriously.

description

THIS is the book that messed up my sleep schedule for TWO. WHOLE. WEEKS. Because I was up until 6 AM reading. I kid you not, I was THAT unwilling to stop reading this book, for any reason at all. Stuff was going down! And it was epic! Victoria Scott's writing is fabulous. She builds her world quickly and effectively, not info-dumping or boring me in any way, shape, or form. I'm still a bit stunned about this, honestly. I finished this book in the beginning of March, and it's now the beginning of April and I'm writing this review...it took me all that time to think of something decent to say that explained more than "WOW" or "READ THIS FREAKING BOOK". Even now, I don't feel like I'm actually doing this book justice.

Character Rundown:
Dante: Dante. Flipping. Walker. The guy we've all been talking about. The guy I claimed as mine before I even officially met him. (And he IS mine, by the way, we should all be clear on that here and now.) The kind of guy who has swag for days and can make me laugh in LITERALLY any situation. He is a extremely well-rounded character, not boring at all--HA! He is the exact OPPOSITE of boring. Using the word "boring" and his name in the same sentence should be illegal. He's funny, and he has a kind heart. He may have been a bit conceited, but he was always awesome, and he grew to become...possibly my new favorite male character. I'm seriously unsure of everything right now. I guess we'll have to wait until after Origin to see how Daemon makes out on my book boyfriend list, yes?

Charlie: Charlie is the opposite of every other female character in practically every book I've ever read. She's not gorgeous. She's not popular. She's not wanted by every guy who breathes the same air as her. She's sweet, caring, and kind. She has a limp, acne, and wears glasses. NOT the kind of person anyone would pair with the badass Dante Walker. I really liked Charlie's character. She was so INNOCENT and that was fun to read, especially compared to Dante and his demon ways.

Plot. I guessed exactly ONE thing that was going to happen in this book. I mean, like, big-shocker-wise. Not obvious things. Everyone guesses those. I mean secretive things that we aren't supposed to know until we're either told or something happens to let the cat out of the bag. And I only guessed ONE of those. Um, yeah, Victoria Scott has obviously written a compelling story that is--YAY!--not predictable like so many other books. There are plot twists, my friends. They happen. You will be surprised. Have fun!

Dante + Charlie. As I said, these two are not the people anyone would imagine ending up together. But as a couple, they are so completely compatible, I'm smiling right now as I write this. She helps Dante be a better person, even when he doesn't realize it, or even want it to happen. And he makes her a more daring person. They bring out different things in each other and they are just so cute and, together, they are completely kickass, I'm not gonna lie. This is a couple that..just...AHH! Happiness and smiles right now. That's all I've got. Happiness and smiles.

The ending. Pfft. As if I'm actually going to tell you. I shall give nothing away except this: "Bad to the bone." ;)

Overall, The Collector is everything I expected it to be and more. Victoria Scott has written a compelling novel that is definitely worth losing a little sleep and slacking on a little blogging. This book is worth it all. It's books like this that make me both proud and GLAD to be V's super fan. <3

ONE MORE THING. The Liberator? AKA, the sequel? Um, yeah. The sooner I get my hands on that the better. I'M GOING THROUGH DANTE WITHDRAWALS.

The Liberator by Victoria Scott
Expected Publication: August 27, 2013
Publisher: Entangled Teen

Description from Goodreads:
Bad boy, meet bad girl.

Dante has a shiny new cuff wrapped around his ankle, and he doesn't like that mess one bit. His new accessory comes straight from Big Guy himself and marks the former demon as a liberator. Despite his gritty past and bad boy ways, Dante Walker has been granted a second chance.

When Dante is given his first mission as a liberator to save the soul of seventeen-year-old Aspen, he knows he’s got this. But Aspen reminds him of the rebellious life he used to live and is making it difficult to resist sinful temptations. Though Dante is committed to living clean for his girlfriend Charlie, this dude’s been a playboy for far too long…and old demons die hard.

With Charlie becoming the girl she was never able to be pre-makeover and Aspen showing him how delicious it feels to embrace his inner beast, Dante will have to go somewhere he never thought he’d return to in order to accomplish the impossible: save the girl he’s been assigned to, and keep the girl he loves.

Cover Reveal: THE LIBERATOR by Victoria Scott!

Goodness, goodness, goodness. I get to help share one of my most anticipated cover reveals of this year with you guys. Do you even know how AMAZING that is?!?!?!

So. The Liberator. Do you know what that is? Hmmmmm?!?! Well, you know that super awesome book/book boy I've been spazzing over since...October? September? Sometime around there. Either way, it's been MONTHS. And yeah, I'm talking about Dante Walker.

DANTE. FLIPPING. WALKER.

*dies*

Okay, so. As I'm sure I've blogged about sometime, the second book in the Dante Walker trilogy (aka, the sequel to The Collector) is releasing only five short months after book 1. Which is AMAZING. But it also means that the cover for book 2 is being revealed now, before book 1 comes out.

Because that's so HORRIBLE, right? ;)

Ha.

Either way, here's the super-awesome cover for book 2 in the Dante Walker trilogy, The Liberator!

Oh, sweet Jesus. Do you love it or do you love it?! I like how we see some of that wonderful face. And then there's also more of that arm that Wendy Higgins is always excited about. And snap, that's a blurb from Wendy Higgins! Loooove heeeer.

So, there's not a blurb for this books yet, but here's what it says on Goodreads:
The official book blurb will be revealed April 2013. In the meantime, here's a note from Author Victoria Scott:
Hey guys! While I can't reveal many details yet, I will say this book was enormously emotional to write. More action, new characters, higher stakes, and a whole lot of sexy. I hope you enjoy reading the next chapter of Dante Walker's story!

By the way, Dante wants me to tell you..."Things only get darker from here, doll. Might want to hold my hand for this."

Also, on Goodreads, it says that the release date is September 3, 2013. Not sure how set that is, but for now...it's a GREAT day to fantasize about.

And now, I'm sure you want to ADD THE LIBERATOR ON GOODREADS. To do that, you can click on the clear-as-day link I just gave you, or you can click here. Either way, it's added. Eeep!

What do you think of the cover? Are you as pumped about this as I am? HOW CAN ANYONE RESIST HE WHO IS DANTE WALKER?!?!?!

And that is all I have to say for today. :)

I've Been Blogging for a YEAR!

Um. Yeah. So today is my blogoversary. A year ago today, I decided "What the what, I'm going to make a blog today!" And thus, Just a Booklover was born.

Seriously, that's what happened. There's no big fun story, other than I wanted somewhere to write and post a review for The Demon's Lexicon trilogy by Sarah Rees Brennan because I adored those books and I had just read a horrible review of it, in which the reviewer trash-talked the whole first book after reading ONE. CHAPTER. So I was peeved and wanted to write my own.

Plus, I was bored.

That's part of the reason why my blog name is so boring. Boring, but accurate. I have literally NO LIFE except for books. Nothing. All I do. All day. Every day. BOOKS.

Not really. I do stuff.

But anyway, before I get stuck in the circle of my rambling, I just want to say...holy crap, guys. I've been doing this for a year. A whole year. 365 days. That is just...whoa, you know? To think, 365 days ago, this blog was born and had 0 followers, 0 posts, 0 reviews, 0 anything. It was all blank and boring.

And now, a year later, I have 938 (I think, I didn't check before I wrote this....probably should have--oops) followers, and something over 200 feedburner subscribers, and just...WOW. Trust me, follower numbers aren't everything, but this is a BIG DEAL to me. Over 900 people have visited my blog and decided that it was good enough to click the "follow" button.

I know some people did it because of giveaways. I'm not even going to talk about that. Because there are other people who did it because they actually want to see what I have to say. Or they did it because of a giveaway, and then chose to come back after that to see something. This is all beside the point. The point is that at some point in time, over 900 people have cared what I had to say. They came to my blog, read my words, and followed.

THEY READ MY WORDS AND FOLLOWED.

Holy snap, guys. That blows my mind.

So, you all, all of you, every person reading this right now, YOU are awesome. I heart you. You make my day, week, month, year, everything.

And to those of you who comment often, I see you. I always read what you have to say, and I love it. I don't care what it is you said, I'm just so glad you keep taking the time to tell me what you have to say. Responding to what *I* say.

Also, to my blogger friends who may or may not be readin this, YOU ARE THE FREAKING BEST. One year and I've made some the bestest and coolest friends ever. Jana, Anna, Monica, Jessirae, Justin, Tiff, etc. (If I left you off that list, it's not because I love you any less, it's because I felt like the list was getting too long and I'm already boring people with my rambling). Without you guys, I'd still be writing the super crappy posts I started out with and hiding in my little corner on Twitter. Now I write only regular-crappy posts and have no problems with tweeting my face off about stuff. Hehehe. Plus, I HAVE FRIENDS! I used to be friendless. That was no fun.

Anna especially. She is cosidered my blogging big sis. And I am serioulsy thankful for her. ANNA I LUUUURVE YOU. And Jana, my Lux-loving best friend. ;)

And...now I'm about to name everyone again and this post is getting so long, so I shouldn't...

Now, my author friends! I actually have author friends now! That is so unbelievably cool. You are all amazing and I love you. Victoria Scott--hey, girl, hey. I'm a super fan for a reason. And JLA. Holy crap, if I were to run into you on the street, you'd know who I am now. HOLY! Nancy Straight, hehe, Daniel <3. And Priya. P-Diddio. <3 you to pieces! L.M. Ausustine because we're so flipping awk. ;) Plus, I wouldn't be just ANYBODY'S super awesome assistant. Geez. And Leah Clifford, because only SHE would come to Austin and kidnap me. Funnest kidnapping ever, if you ask me.

There are more, but I feel like I'm making this post way too long and y'all are just waiting for me to tell you I'm giving something away. If you're even reading this. You might have just scrolled down to that part...if you actually read this post, thank you. Ha.

Now....giveaway!

Giveaway!
Blogoversaries are a big deal. And mine is especially a big deal to me. And it blows my mind at how far this blog has come in just one short year. So I think this giveaway should be BIG. Which means there will be THREE winners.

Yeah, three.

And I'm giving away...

ONE winner will get any book of their choice that is on my reviewed list. As in, on THIS LIST RIGHT HERE. Or you can just click on the tab at the top of the blog. That's an option. Valentine Book Boy Chat ♥ Dante. Flipping. Walker.

As we announced on Saturday, each day this week, we're interviewing some book boys in honor of Valentine's Day! So today we have...

Dante Walker!!!!!
OMFG, yeah. Dante Walker. From The Collector by Victoria Scott!

I can't even tell you how completely MIND. BLOWN. I am to have him on my blog today. Seriously. I can't. Just...AHH! He's totally my boyfriend amazing, and my boyfriend wonderful, and my boyfriend freaking hot, and....yeah, I should probably just get to the interview now.

Dante. Valentine's Day! Some people make big deals out of this day, while other people act like it's he worst idea ever. What's YOUR opinion on Valentine's Day? Do you like it? Is it important to you at all? Why? I think it’s important. But it’s also a cop out. I mean, dudes wait all year long to show their girl they care about them and then are surprised when their chick dumps them in the end. My opinion? If you’ve got a girl, make V-Day year round. More romance for girls means more time “snuggling” if you know what I mean.

Fun fact: My birthday's on February 12. Two days before V-Day. Some people make a big deal out of this. Seriously, V-Day-themed gifts sometimes and everything. Cute, but..um... yeah. Personally, I see NO WAY how they connect. I'm kind of curious about your thoughts on this. Oh, doll. I think it means you’re the most lovable girl out there. I mean, born near V-Day? Might as well put little angel wings on you and call it a day. Damn…that thought is so hot.

Considering what you DO, is Valentine's Day a busy day for you? Or do you have time to do something special with someone if you wanted? I’d have time to do something special if, you know, someone wanted to spend a night with this demon.

If you were to do something special, would you be a big planner/surprise kind of person or just a hang out at home so long as you're together kind of person? Details, please! If you plan, what would you plan? And whatnot. :) I’m not a planner. I like to roll with the punches. And I’m definitely a stay-in kinda’ guy. I’d rather have my girl alone where there aren’t prying eyes. But I would pick up some gifts on my way to her house. My girl wouldn’t want for anything, ever.

Okay, so for the last question, I'm just going to ask for some favorites, if that's okay?
Movie? A Devil Without a Cause
Band? Anything by White Zombie
Person? My dad
Holiday? Halloween all the way
Food? Bacon, naturally.
Book? The Book of Basketball
~~~
And there goes THAT interview. *sigh* I HEART DANTE WALKER SO HARD. As I'm sure you know by now, since you DO follow my blog and I'm somewhat obsessive, The Collector comes out in April 2013! Yeah. That's this year. We just get closer and closer! *happy-dance* So yeah. SEE THE AWESOME COVER?!?!
I swoon, guys. I swoon.
Now it's time for y'all to check out Dante's interview with Jana! Click HERE to head on over to her blog and see more Dante-hotness. Trust me, it is a mighty fine interview. [insert drool here] ;) Also, she'll have a picture of who Victoria Scott pictures as Dante! That's, like, double hotness.
And come back tomorrow...well, today was the last fay of the Valentine Book Boy Chat! But it was super fun, so who knows? Maybe we'll do it again next year. I WILL be hosting a character interview tomorrow, though--with Dean from Dracian Legacy as a part of the blog tour! So stop by again for that!
I just want to say--thank you to all of YOU who stopped by and read these posts and got excited about the interviews. You are awesome. I'll admit, it was already fun to begin with, but you made it even MORE great. Yeah. True story.
And thank you SO SO SO MUCH to Priya, Nancy, Kim, Wendy, and V for being such amazing people and agreeing to our idea and then letting us borrow their book boys. I don't know if y'all will see this, but you are all the flipping BEST. So much love.
Lastly, thanks to Jana! For not making me do this alone. There's a reason she's my best Lux-loving, Dante-loving friend, you guys.
And...that is all. Thank you so much for checking out the interview! But I think it's important to remember that DANTE IS MINE. K? Awesome. ;)
What I Got #24 ♥ An EPIC Day
What I Got is a weekly meme hosted by Monica over at Cover Analysis :)
I was (and still am) not completely sure about posting this today. I should probably skip this week and just post next week. But...meh. I'll explain later in this post. Heh.
For Review:
Tight Knit by Allie Brennan
This book looked so cute and when Allie sent it to me, there was so much happy-dancing. And, um, yeah, guys. I already read it. AND IT IS SO GREAT!!!! There will most likely be a review sometime this week. You know, once I sit my happy booty down and WRITE IT. Heh.
Thanks so much to Allie for sending this to me! Undying love, I tell you!!!
Dissension by Adrienne Monson
This book looked cool and I'm so happy the nice people at Jolly Fish Press sent it to me. Thank y'all so much!!
Pitch Green by The Brothers Washburn
Apparently this book is classified as YA horror and that is not something I read a lot of. So I'm supser excited to read this! It looks so gooood! Thanks again to Jolly Fish Press for sending me an ARC of this!
Gifted:
Touch of Death by Kelly Hashway
I have wanted this book for so long now! I'm all kinds of excited to read it. *squee!* Thanks so, so much to Michelle from The Passionate Bookworm. You're awesome!
Montgomery County Book Festival
You see, this is where I run into a problem. Because I got A LOT of stuff at this book festival. I mean, only two books, but I also got a hella lot of swag and there was stuff with Victoria Scott (whom I love with all my heart, by the way) and just...yeah. And I need to take pictures of all this stuff for y'all to SEE. But I am not in the picture-taking mood. I am tired. This book festival was AALLL the way in Houston. Which is something of a long drive from my place near Austin.
So what I'm gonna do is tell y'all about the books I got (and how Lisa McMann now LOVES ME) and then I'll probably/most likely/pfft, I WILL make a seperate post that shall be MCBF pics galore. Okay? Okay.
So, the books I got!
Dead to You by Lisa McMann
There were these bag-thingies with free books inside. This was one of them. And I have wanted to read this book for a while now but never worked up the courage to actually grab it from the library. Yeah, in case you hadn't noticed, I'm a wimp. Unless someone's trying to snag the copy of THE COLLECTOR that was clearly meant for me. Then shiz gets real. BUT ANYWAY, now I have a signed copy! AHH!
Crash by Lisa McMann
I've had my eye on this book ever since it started showing up in other people's WoW posts. Then I went to this book festival and heard Lisa talking about a truck with two meatballs in top and...well, I was sold. It also helps that is was in the cool bag that also contained Dead to You. Also, Lisa McMann loves me. Because I am a rebel. So yeah. *more squee!!*
Now, because I HAVE to do this, a picture of me and Victoria Scott.
AREN'T WE GORGEOUS?
Hehe, I was too busy freaking out over the fact that
a) I WAS HOLDING A COPY OF THE COLLECTOR IN MY HANDS!!!
and
b) I WAS STANDING NEXT TO THE AMAZEBALLS V SCOTT
to care much about what I looked like. *spazzes*
I die, you guys. I die.
**Oh, and before nine milliona nd a half people start flipping out, I was JUST holding this copy. I do not own it. I did spend some time cuddling with it, but then I [had to] give it back to V.**
Anyhoo, I'll get more in-depth about the festival in my post, but I should say this now--I've announced myself as the V Scott super fan. Because I heart her that much. And her face. I heart that, too.
One more thing. Which is totally not book-related, but makes me smile. See that red bow in V's head? (kinda hard, I know, but let me tell you that it was so flipping cute!!!) I am currently wearing it. And I now own it. And I am still spazzing.
Okay, long post that was about more than it should have been is now over. I shall tell more later!! In my post. Which I will make. Sometime. Ideally, this will be soon. Okay? Okay.
What did YOU get this week? Do anything super cool while getting your bookish goodness? (Book signings, festivals, etc.) LET ME KNOW, FRIENDS.
The First Review of THE COLLECTOR!
Hey, y'all! How's it goin'?
This week has been a SUPER big week for The Collector. Why? Because the first ARCs were sent out! The bloggers/reviewers who recieved them were chosen randomly, and no. I was not in that bunch, sadly. All is well, though. Because my super awesome Lux-loving best friend WAS! Jana from The Book Goddess got and eARC, read the book in, like, a day, and then posted a review.
Soooooooooo...
To see the very first blogger review of The Collector by Victoria Scott, click HERE!!
(I just felt like randomly adding this. Because DANTE IS MINE.)
