Description from Goodreads:
Daemon will do anything to get Katy back.

After the successful but disastrous raid on Mount Weather, he’s facing the impossible. Katy is gone. Taken. Everything becomes about finding her. Taking out anyone who stands in his way? Done. Burning down the whole world to save her? Gladly. Exposing his alien race to the world? With pleasure.

All Katy can do is survive.

Surrounded by enemies, the only way she can come out of this is to adapt. After all, there are sides of Daedalus that don’t seem entirely crazy, but the group’s goals are frightening and the truths they speak even more disturbing. Who are the real bad guys? Daedalus? Mankind? Or the Luxen?

Together, they can face anything.

But the most dangerous foe has been there all along, and when the truths are exposed and the lies come crumbling down, which side will Daemon and Katy be standing on?

And will they even be together?

HOLY EFFING BABY OF GOODNESS.

That is the first thing that comes to mind when I think of this book.

Waiting for this one was torture. The ending to Opal was, like, BOOM, and then we had to wait a normal amount of time for this one. We'd kind of been spoiled with the other books. I was okay with that. But I'm okay with waiting for these books however long I may have to because you know what? They freaking rock. Origin included.

We pick up where Opal left off, which is, ahem, IN TURMOIL. I was worried I'd have trouble getting into this one, seeing as....

**Okay, I usually don't do this, but I am this time because I'd reeeeeally rather not ruin Opal for ya--there will be spoilers for the past three books in here. No spoilers for Origin, because y'all know I don't play that way, but for Obsidian, Onyx, and Opal? Yes. No way around it. So cover your eyes if you haven't read those yet, children.**

Now, back to what I was saying...I was worried I'd have trouble getting into this one, seeing as Daemon and Katy were separated for the beginning of this one. But when I actually had the book in my hands and dove into it, I got stuck in this one from the very first page, just like the rest of the series. I think the dual POV helped A LOT with that, since we still get our needed doses of both of our fav characters, as opposed to being stuck with Katy for however long and wondering what may or may not be up with our dear old Daemon. No offense to Katy, but that would have sucked.

When you compare the characters to how they were in Obsidian, they have changed a crap load. The good thing is that they've changed in a way that doesn't make me want to beat them up. Especially Daemon. As the books progressed, I became less and less likely to slap that boy across his pretty little face. And now in Origin...I can totally forgo the slapping and just start kissing.

He's still not perfect of course, and I'm fairly certain that he never will be. But that's life and I wouldn't have our favorite Luxen any other way. Katy did her own changing thing, too, that makes me feel for her so much. I mean, not TOO much because she's the lucky b-word that gets to be with Daemon. But still, she's with Daemon and I don't hate her (out of jealousy!), so she must be doing something right.

Yes, people say "I love you." It was sweet. Along with other sweet things. THERE IS ALL KINDS OF SWEETNESS ALL UP IN THESE PAGES.

I'm not going to lie, even though I tried not to see any spoilers before I got into the book myself, I failed. I ended up seeing two. So I was obviously expecting those. But there were still surprises. Some of them the fun kind and some of them the OMG JEN WTF ARE YOU DOING STOP IT kind. I can honestly say that I did not get bored at all while reading this one, which is good because I have the attention span of a two year old sometimes. And I read this right around the beginning of the school year, too...goodness knows I was probably wishing for a nap.

Oh, and the title. That was fun, how it actually played a part in the book. I was not expecting that. And I was seriously creeped out by it. Which I LOVED.

Also, if you refuse to read this book because you hate the thought of a whole book of Daemon without Katy and/or Katy without Daemon, then get your butt up out of your computer chair (or whatever the heck you're sitting in) and get this book. Stop being a scaredy cat. I read it, so can you. Plus, they were together again sooner than I expected. Then again, that may not mean what you think it means... ;)

But for reals. Read this book.

Overall, Jen has written us another devastatingly fabulous Lux novel that I am positive will make you laugh, fist pump (I'm thinking of a specific thing happening to a specific person for that one...), possibly punch a wall once or twice, and then giggle because Daemon...hehehe, the things he says...

And let the record show, DAEMON AND KATY ARE SO FREAKING CUTE I DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW LIKE WHAT I CAN'T WHAT AHHH.

And now, because I'm looking at these quotes on Goodreads, I'm going to give you a few. For the first time EVER in a review of mine. I find it fitting that this is for a JLA book. <3

“You know, there’s this thing called pants. You should try it out.”
He cast me a cheeky grin as he turned. “You’d be devastated. Just think, you get to see this every day from here on out.”
My heart did a trippy dance. “Your naked ass? Gee. Sign me up for that.”

Okay, I have to break in and put this because I just found it and I think it fits and YOU CAN'T STOP ME

All right,  I shall resume the quoting...

“I want a years-worth of seconds and minutes with you. I want a decade's worth of hours, so many that I can't add them up.”

AWWW, DAEMON

(That is actually a lie. My heart handles that sweetness like a freaking CHAMP.)

“All the pent up, helpless rage formed a wrecking ball inside of me. Maintaining human form was near impossible. I wanted to hit something—destroy something. I needed to.

“Daemon, no one—”

“Shut up,” I said, turning to where Matthew sat in the corner of the room. Right this moment I wanted to destroy him. “Just shut the hell up.”

“I want to get to know every freckle and every curve on a personal level.”

“I think you did that last night.”

“Nah.” He shook his head. “That was just a meet and greet. I want to know their hopes and dreams.”

Okay, okay, I'm going to stop there because this is getting more about the fun gifs for me and less about the quotes, so unless I stop now, I'll end up putting the whole freaking book on here and that's probably not okay.

But if you haven't taken the time to read it, you want to now, right? Riiiight?! TELL ME I'M RIGHT.

And that's it? Yeah. I think that's it.

Brb, just gonna go rock in a corner until Opposition...

(I'm actually surprisingly okay with the ending to Origin. I mean, I wouldn't turn down the book if Jen were to ask me to read it RIGHT THIS SECOND--which I am aware isn't possible, but let me make my point--but I'm not dead waiting for book 5, either. I'm feeling patient for what I'm sure will be pure awesome sauce. You know, because that's what Jen is made of.)
