What I Got #28 Librarians? Are the BEST

What I Got is a weekly meme hosted by Monica over at Cover Analysis :)

For Review:
Copper Girl (Copper Legacy #1) First Light (Project Five Fifteen #1) Suddenly Royal A Moment (Moments, #1)
The Awakening: Aidan Gone with the Wolf Tragic (Rook and Ronin, #1) When You Were Here

Whoa. That's a lot, right? And I don't think that's even all of them. I'm going to be scrolling through my Kindle later and notice at least, like, three that I forgot to list. Blah.

Copper Girl by Jennifer Allis Provost
This is one of the books releassing from Spence City, the SHP imprint. It sounds like a super cool book, and goodness knows I love Spencer Hill Press.

First Light by Samantha Summers
This one's for a blog tour! I'm pretty sure she's dating a guy who murdered somebody? Or something? Either way, I'm so excited to get to this book. When I finally got it in the mail (all the way from AUSTRALIA!), I had to do a happy-dance. I remember this book looking great when I signed up for the tour. So yay!

Suddenly Royal by Nichole Chase
Kelly Simmon is a wonderful person and sent me an ecopy of this for review, and I am so happy about it! Royalty and romance. I AM SOLD. Also (I almost forgot this because apparently I am a RUDE, RUDE person) THANK YOU, KELLY! You're always so niiiice to me. I appreciate it more than I can say. <3

A Moment by Marie Hall
It's new adult and it seems romantic and that cover just...it just got me. So when I saw it on NetGalley... And I want to read it so bad right now. SO BAD. But I can't yet. Gah! Just...read the description on Goodreads. The book covers are all linked. Read it and then come back and tell me that book doesn't look fantastic.

**SPOILER ALERT** You won't be able to.

The Awakening: Aidan by Abby Niles
Oh, Entangled. I don't know what I'd do without them. I saw this on NetGalley, and it just seems like my kind of book. Heck, just look at the cover. Ahhhhhhh.

Gone With the Wolf by Kritin Miller
The title of this one...ha! I love it. And then it's about a guy and love and stuff, and I'm going to go out on a limb here and say it's about a wolf...? I read the synopsis when I requested on NetGalley, but it is almost 3 AM, so I'm kind of blanking. Either way, we all know that if it's romantic, more often than not, I want to read it. Then add in the fact that this is another one from Entangled...Yeah.

Tragic by J.A. Huss
A New Adult Contemporary Romance. Boom, I'm there. This one is also for a blog tour, by the way.

When You Were Here by Daisy Whitney
I...have not read anything by Daisy Whitney before. I've heard about her books, but...yeah, no. But I've actually had my eye on this one for a while. So yay to Little, Brown for being awesome and letting me get this off NetGalley! Also, that cover? I LOVE IT.

From Library:
Frozen Fire Living Dead Girl

Frozen Fire by Tim Bowler
I actually read this back in middle school. But then I was doing my library aide thing on Friday and for some reason, this book was in my mind. So I grabbed it and checked it out and now...I'm not sure. Maybe I'll re-read it. Maybe I'll just look at a couple parts. Either way, this book? Is really good. It was kind of confusing, though. But I think I actually get it. Which makes me all kinds of happy, because I usually don't GET confusing books, I usually need people to explain them to me. So I don't think this book is for everybody, but I think it's a good one for people who have enough patience to deal with it...if that makes any sense?

Living Dead Girl by Elizabeth Scott
I was watching a bunch of Kiera Cass' videos on Youtube (for no good reason at all) and cam across one with her Top 5 Jacked Up Books. I watched it, and this book was in it, and then I HAD to check it out. I like Elizabeth Scott's books. I can only remember not liking one--As I Wake (which I reviewed), because it...ha! It confused me. But other than that, I'm a fan of her books. So I grabbed this from the library on Friday as well. And, um...yeah. It's jacked up.

Gifted!
The Collector (Dante Walker, #1)
Y'all already know that I've read The Collector. I have an ecopy (two, actaully!) and love it--and its author--to death and beyond. But I did not have an actual, physical PRINT copy....until now!

I. Am. So. Freaking. NDSFIGNQNQE. About. This!

My school librarian gave it to me. Mhm. Yeah. I am so serious right now. Is she the best or WHAT?!?! I'd told her about it (of course, what kind of super fan would I be if every person I came into contact with didn't know about this book? And all my friends? They have to put up with me talking about Dante Walker like he's an actual person. *cough*Perez*cough*)...so, where was I...I'd told her about it, and she got me a copy. I do not know why. I do not know when. I just walked in to do my library aide thing on Wednesday and she gave it to me and I flailed accordingly. And now it is sitting on my shelf--my FAVORITES shelf, to be exact--all nice and pretty.

Goodness, I love it. So much. I'm pretty sure my school librarian will never see this, but if by some weird chance she does--THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU. Goodness gracious, thank you.

So I want to babble about Dante and how AWESOME he is and how I can now feel even more like V's OFFICIAL super fan, but, as I've said, it's past 3 AM and I have other things to do, believe it or not. And this song...NO. I WON'T BABBLE.

That is all I got this week.

(The song is She's Got Something by Greg Holden, if you want to look it up)

So, kind people, tell me:

What did you get this week?
Have you read anything I got?
Which books?!?!
Have you heard that song, if you looked it up? I am kind of addicted to it at present.
How was your week? Crazy, huh? I live in Texas. I getcha, people. I getcha.
Did you notice that there are two copies of Opal on that shelf?
I don't know why I just mentioned that. It means LITERALLY nothing.

Okay, I'll leave it there. Answer at least one of those in the comments? Or all of them if you want. Or none. Be random. Make me laugh. It's up to you.

Have a great Sunday, y'all!

What I Got #26 Contagious ;)

What I Got is a weekly meme hosted by the fabulous Monica over at Cover Analysis :)

I promised last week that I would keep up with these, so--surprisingly--I am! Even though it is an ungodly hour of the night/morning and I've been doing the YA Scavenger Hunt and I don't really FEEEEEL like making this post. But I shall. Because I promised.

I don't like to break promises.

Okay, now that my random rant is over with, here are all the books I got this week!

And they are all FOR REVIEW:

Blood Moon (The Moonlight Trilogy, #1) Devour Inked by an Angel (The Cupid Chronicles, #1) Naturals (The Lost Souls, #2)

Blood Moon by Teri Harman
This is the only book I got in the mail this week, but I was so pumped when I got it. It is GORGEOUS! And for a blog tour. There will be a character interview involved. We all know how GREAT I am at those, RIGHT?!?! Hehehe. Thanks a bunch to Jolly Fish Press!

Devour by Andrea Heltsley
"He wasn't supposed to remember..." WHAT wasn't he supposed to remember? And WHY wasn't he supposed to remember it? And--holy snap--WHO is he?!?!?! Yeah. Now you see why I wanna read this book. I got it on my Kindle for a blog tour! *happy dance*

Inked by an Angel by Shauna Allen
There are angels involved, and the series is called The Cupid Chronicles. Need I say more? This is also for a blog tour, by the way.

Naturals by Tiffany Truitt
This one is actually from NetGalley, because Entangled is awesome to me. Someday, I shall post that review I have of book 1 in this series, and then I'll read this one. Just you wait.

Prophecy Girl (Angel Academy, #1) Aris Returns: A Vampire Love Story (Infinity Diaries Trilogy, #1) Project ELE (ELE, #1) Jaded (Rock Star Trilogy, #1)

Prophecy Girl by Cecily White
That handy dandy little newsletter thingy I get from Entangled every so often was what led me to this book. When I saw it on NetGalley, my finger did that silly twitch thing and now I have this on my Kindle...as always, thanks to Entangled for making me heart them. And now I need to make time for this book because I SERIOUSLY want to read it.

Aris Returns: A Vampire Love Story by Devin Morgan
I bet you can guess why I snagged this off NetGalley...it's a vampire love story. That was all I needed to know before I clicked. I'm kind of lucky this is even book 1, because I didn't check until after. I have an odd liking for vampire romances, when they're GOOD. Remember A Shade of Vampire, people? It's like that.

Project Ele by Rebecca Gober & Courtney Nuckels
This was free on Amazon. 'Nuff said.

Jaded by Mercy Amare
A rock star love story! YES! Thank you soooooo much to Mercy for sending me an ARC of this for review!!

Chasing Mrs. Right (Come Undone, #2) A Different Blue

A Shade of Blood by Bella Forrest
Bella sent this to me Friday night (when I was at my brother's celebrating my nephew's 5th birthday!) and I have been itching to start it ever since. I'm about 9% in now, and I must say, I NEED TO READ MORE. Gah, what I want to happen is not happening, but I see potential good and/or interesting things that could happen and I'm just...yeah. Also, this book is longer than the first one. Also, I find it funny how I JUST referenced A Shade of Vampire and now I'm telling you I got book 2. Not intentional at all, but convenient. Ha. So, thank you thank you thank you to Bella for sending me an early copy of this! I should finish it super soon and have a review up next week, so look out for that!

Chasing Mrs. Right by Katee Robert
THAT is probably the steamiest cover of a book I've reviewed...hmm. Oh, well. I can't resist Heather when she emails us about this stuff. Plus, I hear marvelous things about Katee Robert. Plus, this book looks fantastic. Thank you so much to Heather and Entangled for sending me a copy for review!

A Different Blue by Amy Harmon
This book...there's something about this book, man. I was just LOOKING at it today as I watched SNL, and then I blinked and it was, like, 3 AM and I was 81% in. That's a good sign. I got this book for a blog tour, and I can't wait to a) finish this book and b) post my review so I can verbally abuse y'all into reading this beautiful awesomeness. I'm also convinced that I need to name something Wilson. Or Darcy. Or name one thing Wilson and the other Darcy. For real.

All right, that is all I got this week! Thank goodness. My fingers are getting tired. I'm mighty chatty this morning, aren't I? I need to sleep. Obviously. And shut up. I need to shut up and sleep.

Oh, and have you heard THIS SONG? I've been listening to it since I noticed it in the suggestions when I was listening to You & Me by Dave Matthews Band (which I listened to, logically, after it showed up in the suggestions after listening to Seven, which was, naturally, the first song I put on when I logged onto the computer), and have been listening to it ever since. As I hunted YA style. As I wrote this post. And now it's stuck in my head and I'm addicted. Singing along and everything. "It's contaaaagious..."

Yeah. Be glad you don't live with me and have to wake up to me singing at 5:30 in the morning.

Okay, y'all, tell me:

What did YOU get this week?
Have you read anything I got?
What did you think of it?
Do you WANT to read anything I got?
Which ones?

All righty, you answer me those questions in the comments, and link up to your haul posts--whatever those may be, Stacking the Shelves or something else--and I'll check it all out after I wake up.

Now, I'm off to go pass out somewhere.

Have a great day, friends!

Teaser Tuesday! (11)

Do you want to participate in Teaser Tuesdays? It's simple and hosted by MizB from Should Be Reading. All you have to do is:
-Grab your current read
-Open to a random page
-Share two (2) "teaser" sentences from somewhere on that page
-BE CAREFUL NOT T INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn't give too much away! You don't want to ruin the book for others!)

-Share the title & author, too, so that the other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

All These Things I've Done (Birthright, #1)This week, my teaser is from . . .

All These Things I've Done by Gabrielle Zevin
"He had seen too much and knew too much about me. There were kids I'd gone to school with for years who knew less about my personal life."~pg. 87

All right, that's my teaser. And I know I haven't told y'all about it for a couple days, but YES. I'm listening to Mr. Jones right now. This song is positively amazing.

Okay, that's it for me today. Leave links to your teasers so I can check 'em out!

Have a terrific Tuesday, Friends!

Lauren Kate Signing Recap♥

Fallen (Fallen, #1)Yesterday, my dear friends, I got to meet the wonderful author of the Fallen series, Lauren Kate. I know, I know, I'm SUPPOSED to be reading my booty off in a read-a-thon, but she was at my personal favorite indie bookstore (because it's where I always go to book signings--they've had some amazing authors there). So since I'd been excited about this for a while, I went. This read-a-thon is my first, so it's mostly a test run for me. You know, to see how it goes and how I like doing read-a-thons and such. As a little update, I can tell you that I'm almost done with All These Things I've Done and plan to finish it tonight. Not the point I'm here to make, though, so let's talk books signings, yes?

Torment (Fallen, #2)So, for the first time in my very short book-signing-attendee experience, I was EARLY. Yeah, shocking, I know. I'm usually fashionably late (not on purpose, that's just how it often works out). So I got a seat where my tiny self could actually see Lauren's pretty face! Consequently, this also resulted in having to sit and wait for a while. I'm okay with that, though. My mom, who was sitting next to me, was not. She wasn't too fond of the idea of waiting. She did it, though, and we went on with our lives and the signing and had a great time and whatnot. There were a lot of people talking about the Hush, Hush series, too, while we were waiting. I found this somewhat surprising, though I probably shouldn't have. Both series ARE about angels. They're just really different in a lot of ways, too. They aren't that alike in my eyes. I adore both series, though, so I was happy to join some conversations about it.

Then, Lauren got there and before we knew it, she was speaking. She read the prologue of Rapture, and I
Passion (Fallen, #3)have to say--it was a wonderful way to start. Plus, I REALLY want to read Rapture right this moment. But alas, I have a list and other things to read and conflicting emotions about moving said list around. So for now I'll let it be and go with the flow. Another thing I must say--Lauren did a really good job narrating. I'm not a big fan of audio books, but I think Lauren could be a great narrator for them.

Moving on . . . after the prologue, Lauren talked about Rapture and what it was like to be ending the series. She explained that of course this would be bitter/sweet. That's how endings go, as we all know (I'm not trying to rhyme right now, it's just happening that way). We get the answers we've been waiting for, but we're going to miss the characters we've grown to love over time.

Rapture (Fallen, #4)
After she said what she wanted, Lauren asked us if we had any questions. Lauren was asked questions about many, many things. I'm not going to tell y'all everything because a) I am a very lazy person, b) I don't want to mess up any of her answers, because who could possibly remember EVERYTHING she said word for word? No one, that's who. and c) My computer almost makes me want to kick puppies or babies or something (ALMOST!) and I'd rather not spend all that time. So I'll give you a few bulletpoints of what I learned today (yes, today, but I'm posting it tomorrow, so I should have said yesterday, but oh well):
-Lauren loves all of the covers in the Fallen series (my personal favorite is the Rapture cover--it's so GORGEOUS, I just want to keep petting the cover)
-Lauren loves austin and screamed a little when she found out she got to come here to finish her book tour
-Fallen will be a movie! We didn't get much details on this, though. But there is a script written!
-As far as casting for previously mentioned movie goes, Lauren hopes that there is a brilliant casting director to find unknown actors so they can grow into her characters
-Luce was a super hard character for Lauren to get ahold of at first, until she just let Luce go and do what she does
-Lauren is proud of the arcs her characters have made in this series and likes where they all end
-Lauren has saved 67 rejection letters from writing-related things (random, yes, but randomness is SO MUCH FUN)
-Cam well . . . ah, Cam (I was going to end with seven bullets, and I don't like the number 7, so I added this, hehe)

Random fact: I'm listening to Mr. Jones by Counting Crows right now. I LOVE THIS SONG. Okay, so the point of this post--I had an amazing time meeting Lauren Kate, and she is a truly wonderful person. I don't know why this always surprises me a little bit, but it does. It also makes me unbelievably happy. I got Rapture signed and had a nice little chat with Lauren. The topic of me having a blog came up and I HAD to say how I practically blog-stalk Anna from Literary Exploration. I don't spend eactually stalk anyone, but I'm pretty close, I think, and it makes me feel like a creeper. I have good intentions, though.

Mr. Jones is about to end (for the gazillionth time, since I keep replaying it), so I'll leave y'all with that. AH! I'm go glad I got to meet Lauren Kate! Today was a great day.

Have a magnificent Friday, Friends!

How Time Flies. . .

Friends, my Spring Break is already over! I find this so upsetting. It passed by so quickly and it feels as if I have done nothing with my week off. Honestly, Spring Breaks should be longer. Then again, both you and I know that I actually have done things during this break. . . a whole lot of reading and reviewing, I took my SAT (thank goodness THAT'S over), and stuff of the blogging nature. Still, lost time is sad.

Now on to lighter topics, I am tweaking my Reading List a bit. Not a bunch, just a little. Here is the updated one:
1. The Dark Divine by Bree Despain (I'm currently reading this one. INTERESTING.)
2. The Grimoire Chronicles: Veil Between Worlds by Sally Dubats
3. Take Me There by Susane Colasanti
4. Dark Souls by Paula Morris
and
5. Amy & Roger's Epic Detour by Morgan Matson (This one is a reread, but again I say: I LOVED IT. So I will be glad to read it again.)
Again, **Please Note: When I get Between, it automatically goes to the very top of the list. Yeah, I want to read it that bad. what can I say? I'm a sucker for guys named Aiden with Scottish accents.**

I have happy news, well kind of. One piece of this I told you guys yesterday- I'm expecting an ARC of Transcendence by CJ Omololu. I am so excited about this! I don't really get ARCs on a regular basis, unfortunately. It would be great if I did, though! Anyways, my unknown-to-you piece of news now: I am expecting ANOTHER ARC! Yay for me! This one will be an ARC of Immortal City by Scott Speer. It is these kinds of things that make me happy. I shall give more information on these books and stuff when I actually, you know, receive them. I'll read them and review them and all the usual stuff, of course.

Quick thank you to Mrs. ReaderPants for my ARC of Immortal City, Sally Dubats for my copy of The Grimoire Chronicles, and CJ Omololu for my ARC of Transcendence. I am so excited to read all of these books! I have that tingly feeling right now (again) just thinking about it!

Now I just want to say that I do still plan on reading and reviewing and whatnot. I am just giving a heads-up, though that they may not be as frequent now that school is starting back up tomorrow. I am a smart chicky - I'm not bragging, just being serious (I'm graduating a year early, you know) - but high school is a huge time suck. Yes, a necessary one, but nonetheless true. I will still read like a speed demon, but you've been in high school- it is very stressful. I will do the best I can juggle it all, I promise, but cut me a little slack?

Okay, one last thing before I go to do. . .things. I think I'm going to my brother's house today. . . I did not plan on saying this, but I am listening to this song by Paramore called "Oh, Star" and it is such a great song! I don't know why but it is sticking with me right now and I need to tell you about it. It's not new, but it is an old demo that you may not have heard. I, for one, am a huge Paramore fan. So I feel it necessary to spread the word when I discover a particularly awesome song of theirs. Check it out HERE.

All right, and that is it. Thank you all, as always, for checking out my blog, and certainly feel free to take a look at my other posts!

Until next time, Friends! (And wish me luck at school tomorrow!)

Stars Go Dim♥

Hey, Friends! Today I am going to tell some people who I am glad to be able to call friends of mine. They are also in a little band called Stars Go Dim. Yeah, I know; I usually talk about BOOKS, and now here I am talking about MUSIC. It's all good, though, because these guys are awesome.

(Source)

Stars Go Dim is a band (as I said) made up of three guys named Chris, Michael, and Joey. Honestly, they are three of the nicest guys ever and they make some seriously awesome music. Isn't that enough? Well it should be.

They've played on the same stage as many, many people youjust may listen to every day. This includes (but is certainly not limited to) John Mayer, Sara Bareilles, and Daughtry. Yeah, even if you aren't a fan of those three musicians, you know you've heard them on the radio at some point in your life. Well, Stars Go Dim are just as great, but not as well-known. YET. They have so many awesome songs. My personal favorite of said songs is "Come Around" and there's a mighty good acoustic verion that just makes me so happy. Wanna see it? You can watch it HERE.

What I must say is Stars Go Dim's most common known album is called Love Gone Mad and has loads of great songs that YOU, yes you, should check out. Their new album, Between Here and Now, is, well, new. This is something YOU, yes you again, should also check out because I have and I love it which means it has to be wonderful. It's true. Remember what I said about having  a special skill to pick the good things out of a pile of bad? (If you don't, then check out some of my other posts, I'm sure I mentioned it at least twice). Well that is what I have done with these guys. An amazingly great band picked out of a bunch of. . . not so good bands.

(Source)

Oh, and before I forget (I have a very rambunctious-I'm not even sure I spelled that right, but you get the point-mind. I forget things sometimes as I ramble) I must tell you about how SGD's song "Crazy" was on a BONES commercial during American Idol last night. You saw that commercial? And heard that crazy (pun intended) good song? Well that was by these guys, Stas Go Dim! You're welcome for saving you a Google search. If you didn't see the commercial and would like to see what I am talking about (because I am not a crazy person, I am making perfect sense here) then you can click HERE and view the commercial. Did you watch it? Well now you are in the SGD loop. Welcome.

Okay, so now you have read this post and trust my ninja instaincts and want to check out the amazing band? Yeah, I thought you might. So now I give you LINKS! Yes, I said LINKS.

Would you like to see Stars Go Dim's website? Well if you do, click HERE.
Would you like to check out Stars Go Dim's YouTube page? Well then I've got you covered. Just click HERE.

All right, Friends. I thank you as always for visiting my blog! I hope you check out my other posts and see what random things I have to say about other random things (but usually books). I do tend to ramble, and it can be amusing so maybe you'll look? Quick book update: I am within 100 pages from finishing Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake, and I am already thinking up things to say about this enthralling book. The review should be up tomorrow around. . . I'm not sure when, actually. Before 6 probably, but I can't give you an earliest time because I am on Spring Break and I love to sleep, so. . .yeah. I will post the link on my Twitter, though, so you can always check there! @makesmeworse12 if you haven't already seen this on my other posts. Oh, and back to the point of this post, Stars Go Dim has a Twitter, too! @StarsGoDim. Not that hard to remember, now is it?

I think that's it. No, I have not gotten Between by Cyndi Tefft yet. I know you are all probably wondering when I will because, you  know, I've been telling you how I want that book so much (I do) and it looks so good (it really does) and Aiden has a SCOTTISH ACCENT (*swoon*) but I have unfortunatly not gotten that books yet. I am working on it, though, so keep your eyes open. When I get it, it goes right to the top of my TBR list.

Now that seriously is everything I have to say for now. If I think of anything else, trust me, you will be the first to know. Thanks you for checking this out again, and come again soon! I shall go eat pie now :)

Until next time, Friends!

♥Jessica(:
