Top Ten Books On My Winter TBR

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish!

This week's topic is, as you can tell from the title, the Top Ten Books on My Winter TBR. My TBR is freakishly long, so I have no idea how I'm going to narrow this down. But I shall try.

And that's my ten! Did you make a list? I WANT TO SEE IT. Link me up! And tell me what you think of mine. Which ones should I read first? Anything that you think SHOULD have been on this list? Tell me. I don't care how long my TBR is--I have no problem with making it longer ;)

September TBR ♥ A Video of Jessica Being Awkward

So some bloggers do posts every month to sum up their month or show what's to come on the blog and whatnot. Other bloggers do vlogs for this.

I chose to do a vlog.

This is that vlog.

And that is it. COMMENT THINGS. (I'm really not helpful today, am I? *sigh*)

Also, I heart you! Also, Fangirl still makes me happy-dance!

Also, Victoria Scott...I think I've said enough for today, actually...

Top Ten Tuesday: Books at the Top of my Summer TBR List!

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish!

Partly, this is me playing catch-up, and partly this is me being SUPER excited about reading some books. So...yeah. :)

My Top Ten Books on my Summer TBR List:

Frigid by J. Lynn
Frigid
This book is not out yet. But it WILL be out this summer, and I will be lusting after this book all the while. *flails*

My Super Sweet Sixteenth Century by Rachel Harris
My Super Sweet Sixteenth Century
I got this book for my birthday, started it, and then had to put it aside because it was either reading this book or finishing a PreCal project that was worth a test grade. ...I flipped a coin. The project won. Best 3 out of 5. I was disappointed. My project was pretty darn great, though, if I do say so myself ;)

Dare You To by Katie McGarry
Dare You To (Pushing the Limits, #2)
Goodness knows I loved Pushing the Limits, so I am SO excited to finally be able to sit down and read this book now that school's over.

The Evolution of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin
The Evolution of Mara Dyer (Mara Dyer, #2)
I got this book for Christmas. CHRISTMAS, y'all! I am in serious need of finally reading it and joining the rest of humanity in biting their nails waiting for the last book.

Faking It by Cora Carmack
Faking It (Losing It, #2)
I just finished a re-read of Losing It, and I am so pumped to get to Cade's story. I just KNOW I'm going to swoon.

Losing Hope by Colleen Hoover
Losing Hope (Hopeless, #2)
This is another one that isn't out yet, but I'm going to make grabby hands for until I get it. Holder is one of my top guys, remember? I CANNOT WAIT to see what was going on in his head. Hopeless is one of my favorite books of all time. I just know this book is going to be AMAZING. Eeep!

The Avery Shaw Experiment by Kelly Oram
The Avery Shaw Experiment
I JUST got this today, and I'm going to be reviewing it sometime. I am so excited, because this book looks like it is 100% MY KIND OF BOOK, you know?

This is What Happy Looks Like by Jennifer E. Smith
This Is What Happy Looks Like
This cover makes me happy. And this is another one I WANTED to dive into right away, but could not because school is idiotic. But now it is summer, and I have all the time in the world to read what I want. So yay!

True Love Story by Willow Aster
True Love Story
I've had this book for a while and my finger has been itching to just CLICK on it on my Kindle. I can't wait until I get to do that! And now I will. Soon.

The Valentine's Arrangement by Kelsie Leverich
The Valentine's Arrangement
This is one I started on the moment I got it, but had to stop because I had to do other things. Probably a history notebook or something silly (yet graded) like that. But AGAIN--it is now summer, therefore I have time. And I'm so excited!!!!!!!!!! *squee!*

So...yeah. That's my list! Now, tell me:

Do you participate in TTT? Link me up!

What do you think of my list? Have you read any of these books? What do you think? Which should I read first?

And before you go, I'm currently listening to (i.e. singing along to) this song, and I feel like it is pretty appropriate to share in this post. You know, the summer thing and all. Also, if you've read Maggie Stifvater's SHIVER trilogy...heh. ;)

Mhm. Yeah. That is all. <3

2013 TBR Pile Reading Challenge!

Click on the banner to learn more about this challange!

Um, yeah. Believe it or not, I actually have more books sitting around waiting to be read than I really should. And a bunch of books I should really read, just in general. So this challenge will hopefully make me want to, you know, do what I'm supposed to.

I'm going to play it easy with this challenge, and then go up if I get there:

1-10: A Firm Handshake

All right, now the books I plan to read...

- A Touch Morbid by Leah Clifford
- Epoch by Timothy Carter
- Any Other Night by Anne Pfeffer
- Secrets by Tim Mettey
- Blood of the Revenant by N.R. Allen
- The Death Cure by James Dashner
- A Million Suns by Beth Revis
- A Temptation of Angels by Michelle Zink
- Fated by Alyson Noel
- Something Strange and Deadly by Susan Dennard

Okay, now some books I might do in place of a few on THAT list (because I own these ones, whereas I don't own some of the books on the other list):

- Carrier of the Mark by Leigh Fallon
- The Body Finder by Kimberly Derting
- Starcrossed by Josephine Angelini
- Unspoken by Sarah Rees Brennan
- My Super Sweet Sixteenth Century by Rachel Harris

And that's my list for now. It may change, it may not, but hopefully I'll get to these sometime in 2013.

Now, since I love to randomly ramble about books (I LOVE THEM SO MUCH), I'm going to comment a little on the books on my list.

- A Touch Morbid: I got this from Leah on October 4th. (Yes, I remember the exact date...it was a seriously cool thing.) We had our super fun outing in which she kidnapped me and then we went out to dinner, with two other friends, and then went to watch the bats. Because it was in Austin. Look it up, people. :) Either way, I should read this.

- Epoch: Tim is an awesome author who I reviewed one other book for (called The Cupid War). And then I got this one to review. And now it waits on my shelf. I started reading it FORVER ago, but then had to stop for reasons that were non-book related. Definitely one I have to pick up again, preferably towards the beginning of 2013.

- Any Other Night: Anne sent this to me and I just have not gotten to it yet. I should workon it, though. This book looks mighty cute. And heavy. We'll see how that works out.

- Secrets: I got this on recently to review, and I just know it's going to roll over into next year for me. Haven't really started it yet. Looks like it could be good...or not. Again, we'll see.

- Blood of the Revenant: Every time I look at this book I kind of want to read it. But this is another one that's going to roll over into 2013. Sad, but I life happens. Blogging is great, but I have school and family and sleep and stuff, too.

- The Death Cure: I got this ever farther in what I deemed "FOREVER ago" when I was talking about Epoch. It was an ARC I got from my library! My first ever ARC. I still have it to this day (because I haven't read it yet). Cool, huh? I started it once when I was in between books, but...um, but...I kind of stopped. I plan on going back to it, though! Obviously.

- A Million Suns: This is just a sequel I have taken too long to pick up. Seriously.

- A Temptation of Angels: I've wanted to read this one for a long time! But I kept on NOT picking it up. I have no clue why. I want to fix that next year.

- Fated: I read The Immortals series by Alyson Noel. Actually, no. I read the first three books of The Immortals series. I did not like. The first book was good, the second book was the complete opposite, and the third book led to so much facepalming...I can't even. But I want to give Alyson's books another chance. Maybe it was just that series. I'll never know until I try, right?

- Something Strange and Deadly: You may or may not remember that I checked this out from the library a while ago. Long story short, I never got to it. So I want to be sure to get to it sometime next year. So...onto the list!

Um....that was the end of the list...

I'll be keeping track here AND on my 2013 Challenges tab,* so if you want to see my progress, those are the places to go! Plus, there will be monthly wrap-up posts. Yeah. So those can be checked out, too. Basically, there will be a few ways for you to stalk me on this challenge. You know, just in case your inner creeper wants to see really cool bookish stuff.

Remember, folks, click on the banner at the top of this post to find out more about this challenge! I have explained pretty much nothing. I am aware of this. ;)

*I'll be keep track on my tab. I have it linked there to my post here, so you can see my goal list, but I'm not going to keep coming back to this list to update things. I WILL update this post if I get bumped up a level. Then, I'll cross off what was read and update my goal and whatnot.

To get to my 2013 Challenges page, click the tab at the top of the blog, or click HERE because I'm linking because I'm nice and you guys are awesome.

It would just be too complicated to update in a bunch of places, because I'm participating in more than just one challenge. The tab WILL be updated, though, so no worries!

Wicked Wildfire Read-a-thon Wrap Up

Wicked Wildfire Read-A-Thon
All right, so the read-a-thon ended yesterday. Now it's time to see what I finished . . .

1. All These Things I've Done by Gabrielle Zevin (354 pages)
2. Exiled by M.R. Merrick (264 pages)
3. Fire by Kristin Cashore (461 pages)
4. As I Wake by Elizabeth Scott (269 pages)
5. The Disenchantments by Nina LaCour (307 pages)

TOTALS:
5 books
1655 pages

I finished my goal! I read all the books on my list. I didn't have that many books on my list, but I'm glad I finished them. We have to factor in the fact that I went to a book signing during this, and the fact that I LOVE TO SLEEP. So sleeping got in the way just a little bit. Either way, my first read-a-thon was a total success, and I'll definitely be participating in another one sometime.

Have a great night, Friends!

What I Got! (7)

What I Got is a weekly meme hosted by Monica over at Cover Analysis :) where we tell y'all about the wonderful brag-worthy bookish things we got this week!

Unraveling (Unraveling, #1)
Unraveling by Elizabeth Norris. Anna from Literary Exploration gave me her ARC(!). When it got here on Friday, I was pretty much bouncing off the walls. I am SO excited to read this book. Thank you so so SO much, Anna!

LIBRARY:
Yeah, I went to the library again. You'll see why in a second . . .
Fire (Graceling Realm, #2)
Fire by Kristin Cashore. Last week I got Graceling and read it, like, SUPER fast. After that awesomeness, of course I had to get the companion. I probably should have just grabbed it when I got Graceling, but I didn't expect to adore Graceling so much.

Miracle
Miracle by Elizabeth Scott. Yeah, I have a problem with going to the library--I can never go and just get what I specifically went there for (this time, that would be Fire). This caught my eye, so I grabbed it. It looks seriously great.

Audition
Audition by Stasia Ward Kehoe. I saw this and decided to grab it because I'm starting a verse reading challenge on July 1 (I'll add a tab sometime soon). I thought I'd kick it off with this book. I'm on the fence about it, though. The more it sits on my stack, the more uncertain I get. It's probably going to make me cry or something. Verse novels do that sometimes.

BOUGHT:
Rapture (Fallen, #4)
Rapture by Lauren Kate. As we all know from my recap on Friday, I went to a Lauren Kate signing this week. Since I haven't read Rapture yet, Billy and Angie bought it for me to get signed! This cover is positively gorgeous. I'm kind of really excited to read this, while at the same time I'm hesitant. Fallen is about to be over. Thank you Billy & Angie! I love you guys.

Last, I got in the mail some swaggish things for Just For Fins, since I'm on the Splash team. Since I don't have a camera, I don't have a picture, but I got it.

That's What I Got this week! In case you didn't guess, my TBr stack is getting kinda tall. Which makes me so happy! I love being able to just pick up my next book and start reading it. So, what did YOU get this week? Tell me/leave links in the comments!

Have a great day, Friends!

Wicked Wildfire Read-a-thon

Wicked Wildfire Read-A-Thon
I'm a little late with my starting post, but here it is!

The books I hope to finish in this read-a-thon are
(I'm going to exclude Graceling because I started it before the read-a-thon began, even though I finished it after midnight last night)

1. All These Things I've Done by Gabrielle Zevin
2. Exiled by M.R. Merrick
3. Fire by Kristin Cashore
4. The Disenchantments by Nina LaCour
5. As I Wake by Elizabeth Scott

That's my list for now. I'll get through as many of these as I can, and whatever I don't get through will just stay on my TBR. Since this is my first read-a-thon, I'm not putting a bunch of pressure on myself or anything. At the end, I'll let y'all know how I did! :)

What I Got! (6)

What I Got is a weekly meme hosted by Monica over at Cover Analysis :) where we tell y'all about the wonderful brag-worthy bookish things we got this week!

Before we get to the "What I Got" for this week, I must be my sentimental little self and say . . .

Okay, now for What I Got--

FOR BLOG TOUR:
Dead Radiance (Valkyrie, #1)
Dead Radiance by T.G. Ayer. This is for a blog tour, and my stop will be on July 14!

FROM LIBRARY:
Yes, I had a fun little trip to my library this week!

Stay With Me
Stay With Me by Garret Freymann-Weyr. I've already read this book, but I love it so much that I wanted to re-read it SO. BAD. So I did. :) This book is positively amazing. And makes me love the name "Eamon."

Balthazar
Balthazar by Claudia Gray. I've read the whole Evernight series--own it, even--and have been Team Balthazar since the very beginning. So I thought I should read this book. And I did. And I'll have a review posted sometime this month so you can see what I thought. One thing will never change, though--I LOVE BALTHAZAR.

Wither (The Chemical Garden, #1)
Wither by Lauren DeStafano. This book just sort of caught my eye, so I decided to check it out. I mean, why not? I'm currently reading this, and . . . I don't even know. Beautiful writing, for sure.

Graceling (Graceling Realm, #1)
Graceling by Kristen Cashore. I've heard VERY good things about this book--especially from Anna from Literary Exploration--so I thought I'd give it a try. I really take others' recommendations super seriously. Plus, it looks like it'd be fun to read. How can that not be a win?

All These Things I've Done (Birthright, #1)
All These Things I've Done by Gabrielle Zevin. I've been looking at this book for a while and decided to finally give it a shot.

As I Wake
As I Wake by Elizabeth Scott. I love Elizabeth Scott. Therefore, I'm going to read this book.

The Disenchantments
The Disenchantments by Nina LaCour. First of all, this cover is amazing. I love it so much. Second of all, I've been waiting to find this book in the library for a while. I read Hold Still by Nina, and it was great. So I thought I should most certainly read The Disenchantments.

All right, that's What I Got this week! What did you get? Leave links or whatnot if you wish.

Have a wonderful Sunday and a great Father's Day, Friends!

Happy April!

'Tis April, Friends! I purposely did not post yesterday because I don't know about you, but I am very untrusting on April Fools Day. So I decided not to do anything that could be taken as a joke. I'm noce like that. ANYWAYS, I have some things to let y'all in on! I mean, it's probably not too "important" or whatever, but some fun things to know about what I have planned this month and such.

WAIT. Did I just say "planned this month"? Ha, that's funny. I have NOTHING "planned." I'm a very good go-with-the-flow kind of person. Usually. Back to my point, I'll tell you a bit about what I have planned AS OF RIGHT NOW for this month.

To start, I want to tell you folks about something I am personally very excited about. So, I know this author. His name is Jamie Manning. Have you heard of him? You very well may have, especially if you participated in the YA Scavenger Hunt this past weekend like someone else we all know and love (ME!).  Well, Jamie has this book coming out on April 24th. It's called Blood Born. Again, you may have heard about it. If you did, they were probably all wonderful things, because I think this book s going to be great. I'm not sure when I'm going to get to read it, but it WILL be on my wishlist, no doubt. Okay, now you're all getting impatient: WHAT ARE YOU EXCITED ABOUT, GIRL?!!! Well, gee, I'm getting there. I am excited because today - yes, TODAY - the blog tour for Blood Born starts! That's right: to add to the super exciting fact that we are within the month that Blood Born is released, the BLOG TOUR starts today! This makes me happy. And so much more excited about the book! (AH, I so can't wait to read it!)

Yep, there it is. The blog tour is hosted by Once Upon a Twilight, and you should totally check it out. I know I will! (Actually I already did. Can you say GIVEAWAY anyone?) ;)

Now I must move on, unforunately, for I have other things to share. Like my current Reading List, for one!
I've been promising this for a while, and now here it is - finally!

Reading List (as of right now - can change at any point in time for various reasons):
1. How To Ruin Your Boyfriend's Reputation by Simone Elkeles (currently reading)
2. Hades (sequel to Halo) by Alexandra Adornetton
3. Hallowed (sequel to Unearthly) by Cynthia Hand
4. Slide by Jill Hathaway
5. Immortal City by Scott Speer
And . . . that's pretty much it for now. Of course, I'll post reviews as I finish the books. The review for How To Ruin will probably be up sometime around Wednesday, so keep your eye out for that!

Now, I believe that was all I had to say. I told you about the BLOG TOUR, my TBR list, and my next review. . . Yeah, that's it. Thank you all for checking out my blog and reading my post. If you liked this one, you should check out my others. Oh, and in case you hadn't noticed, I have reviews too! Take a look and see if you like? And please, remember to FOLLOW my blog. Trust me, it'll pay off. I just might have a few ideas up my sleeve. . . ;)

So, I shall leave you all wih this picture because it popped up when I Googled the April picture, and I love tulips! Yes, it may be a rainy picture, but you have to admit that the flowers are still GORGEOUS! :)

Until next post, Friends!

♥Jessica(:

YAAAAWN.

Hello, Friends. In case you did not notice from the title of this blog post, I am tired. Here's a fun fact about me: I NEVER get enough sleep. Ever. I try and try, but it just doesn't happen. Now I'm throwing my small level of sleep in with attempting to learn and actually thinking about boring things like accounting. (Yes, I am actually taking an accounging class. It's a double credit, folks!) Anyways, back to the point: I am tired, as I always am, but school just makes it worse. I shall live, though, so I shall move on to things you all care about more than my horrible sleep habits.

Yesterday I gave you a fun little list of what I planned to read in the order in which I planned to read them. I think I may have done something I do not do very often, and never on purpose: I think I lied. Not intentinally or in any way that is super important. The thing is: I am back at school now. I'm not whining this time, I'm just saying that my copy of Veil Between Worlds by Sally Dubats is on my computer (with my Kindle PC app). That means I cannot take it to school with me to read, which is what I do with pretty much all my books. I mean, think about it- how else would I get any major reading done? I have a very tiny amount of time for leisure things on school nights, unfortunately. Back to my point, because I seem to keep getting off track - I told you I tend to ramble - I will probably wait to do big heavy-duty reading of Veil Between Worlds until the weekend. I'll read the beginning during the week, but other than that I will probably be reading Take Me There by Susane Colasanti for now. Probably.

Why did I just say probably? Well - you sharp reader, you - I said PROBABLY because I am only a few pages from finishing The Dark Divine. Now you are asking why this changes things. Well, I'll tell you! This changes things because The Dark Divine is a wonderful book that has a sequel I have put on reserve in the library. That means I should get it soon, and when I get it, I shall devour the awesomeness I KNOW is waiting inside.

On that note, I will have the review for The Dark Divine by Bree Despain up tomorrow sometime. Probably sometime after five- yeah, the school thing again. I'm definitely finishing the book tonight, though. At this moment, there is NO WAY I could sleep leaving off where I stopped reading during accounting. (Yes, I read during class, but only certain ones and during down time. Remember- I am a smart chicky!) I have also decided that I will do individual reviews for each of the books in The Dark Divine trilogy. This is based off of a few reasons:
1. I NEED to tell you about this first book, like, NOW. Yeah, it's just that great.
2. I do not actually have the second book in my hands yet and I don't want to leave you guys waiting forever for a review because that would be mean, and I try not to be a mean person.
and
3. The last book in the trilogy, The Savage Grace, is not in my library yet. I have not a clue when or if my library will get it, so I guess I can't really make any promises. When/if my library gets it, I promise I will get my hands on it ASAP. For you and for me. :)

All right, I think that's it and I have a chemistry test tomorrow. Ew. I'm not too good with chem. Math, yes. English, yes (clearly). But chem? NOPE. Off I go to finish my current marvelous reading endeavor and then work on some review for chem. Wish me luck!

Oh, and for my nice friends who visit my blog often: Can you do me a favor and follow my blog? I KNOW that a bunch of you check it out, but it would be cool to have some actual, you know, followers. I thank you in advance for being so awesome.

Okay, I bid you all a good night. I will post again tomorrow, Friends!

How Time Flies. . .

Friends, my Spring Break is already over! I find this so upsetting. It passed by so quickly and it feels as if I have done nothing with my week off. Honestly, Spring Breaks should be longer. Then again, both you and I know that I actually have done things during this break. . . a whole lot of reading and reviewing, I took my SAT (thank goodness THAT'S over), and stuff of the blogging nature. Still, lost time is sad.

Now on to lighter topics, I am tweaking my Reading List a bit. Not a bunch, just a little. Here is the updated one:
1. The Dark Divine by Bree Despain (I'm currently reading this one. INTERESTING.)
2. The Grimoire Chronicles: Veil Between Worlds by Sally Dubats
3. Take Me There by Susane Colasanti
4. Dark Souls by Paula Morris
and
5. Amy & Roger's Epic Detour by Morgan Matson (This one is a reread, but again I say: I LOVED IT. So I will be glad to read it again.)
Again, **Please Note: When I get Between, it automatically goes to the very top of the list. Yeah, I want to read it that bad. what can I say? I'm a sucker for guys named Aiden with Scottish accents.**

I have happy news, well kind of. One piece of this I told you guys yesterday- I'm expecting an ARC of Transcendence by CJ Omololu. I am so excited about this! I don't really get ARCs on a regular basis, unfortunately. It would be great if I did, though! Anyways, my unknown-to-you piece of news now: I am expecting ANOTHER ARC! Yay for me! This one will be an ARC of Immortal City by Scott Speer. It is these kinds of things that make me happy. I shall give more information on these books and stuff when I actually, you know, receive them. I'll read them and review them and all the usual stuff, of course.

Quick thank you to Mrs. ReaderPants for my ARC of Immortal City, Sally Dubats for my copy of The Grimoire Chronicles, and CJ Omololu for my ARC of Transcendence. I am so excited to read all of these books! I have that tingly feeling right now (again) just thinking about it!

Now I just want to say that I do still plan on reading and reviewing and whatnot. I am just giving a heads-up, though that they may not be as frequent now that school is starting back up tomorrow. I am a smart chicky - I'm not bragging, just being serious (I'm graduating a year early, you know) - but high school is a huge time suck. Yes, a necessary one, but nonetheless true. I will still read like a speed demon, but you've been in high school- it is very stressful. I will do the best I can juggle it all, I promise, but cut me a little slack?

Okay, one last thing before I go to do. . .things. I think I'm going to my brother's house today. . . I did not plan on saying this, but I am listening to this song by Paramore called "Oh, Star" and it is such a great song! I don't know why but it is sticking with me right now and I need to tell you about it. It's not new, but it is an old demo that you may not have heard. I, for one, am a huge Paramore fan. So I feel it necessary to spread the word when I discover a particularly awesome song of theirs. Check it out HERE.

All right, and that is it. Thank you all, as always, for checking out my blog, and certainly feel free to take a look at my other posts!

Until next time, Friends! (And wish me luck at school tomorrow!)

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

pattys patricks shamrock shamrocks irish
Okay, So I'm jamming a couple things into this post. First: Happy St. Patrick's Day! Amazing how it landed on a Saturday this year, isn't it? Sometimes things are just lucky like that. I hope every single one of you has a great day, though I am not doing anything of excitement. Quick suggestion, read this whole post so you don't miss anything! There really IS going to be a bunch jammed in here.

Which brings me to my next piece of business (I'm not sure how, but I'm moving on anyway): A book review! I told you at the end of my Anna Dressed in Blood review yesterday (post titled "Her Name Looked Beautiful in Blood") that I was reading Sapphique and would review it sometime soon. Well, I finished Sapphique last night- yeah, I'm a fast reader -and now it is time to review the book! So, here it goes. . .

Sapphique by Catherine Fisher. This book was the sequel to Incarceron, so if you want to read this book, read that one first. Unlike the other books I've read and reviewed, this book is not very full of romance. There is some love there, though. Between friends and a parent love, and then some kind of special bond between certain characters that I'm not going to go too much into right now. But back to my point: this book is more of a fantasy adventure. Catherine Fisher whisks you away to the world of Incarceron and the Realm with a special effect that I think a lot of adventurous readers will love. I, personally, do not think these types of books are my cup of tea, but I read them anyway.

When you first begin the books, you are kind of bored and wonder when something will actually, you know, HAPPEN. You think, "hey, maybe I'll just skim this a bit to see what happens. . ." And that's what you do for a while. You skim. Then you get to a part that is so interesting that you actually read it. Then you skim some more. Then  you get to another part worth reading. Then you skim some more. And this whole cycle keeps going until the interesting bits get closer together and you don't even want to skim anymore. Yes, this happened to me. For a while at the beginning of Sapphique I thought I wouldn't be able to write a review because I would not have actually READ the book, and we all know how  I feel about writing reviews on book I haven't even given a chance. Oh, you don't know? I do not write reviews on books I have not finished. If I'm not going to give the book a chance and READ it, I don't have the right to say anything negative about it in a review. Because what would I really be reviewing? The one chapter that is probably -or could be- the most boring chapter in the book? No. Not what I do.

Anyways, moving on. I did like this book. I didn't LOVE it or anything, but it wasn't bad. What gets me about this book is that it has a few storylines happening at the same time. They all fit together in the end, yes. but I would have preferred to have just stayed with the characters outside of Incarceron instead of switching back and forth between being inside and outside. I am a big advocate for Finn+Claudia, so I'm probably biased. Still, I didn't like the whole jumping in and out. I understand that they were both pieces to the story and fit together perfectly at the end so everything would make sense. That does not change my opinion, though.

Okay, quick character run down. Claudia- the Warden of Incarceron's daughter. . .or so she thought. Now faces a bunch of bother in trying to convince people that Finn is the true Prince Giles. She is a strong, clever character that I really had a lot of respect for. Next, Finn- OH FINN. He is. . .well I am not sure how to descibe Finn. He is a very loyal, caring character. He gets somewhat whiny sometimes, but his overall charm makes up for it, in my opinion. and now, Attia. I will not say anything really about Attia, because I do not like her very much. She is one of the characters, along with Keiro- I'll get to him in a minute- inside the prison. She has a bunch of faith in Finn keeping his promise and, yeah. That's all I really want to say about her. Lastly, Keiro! Finn's oath brother. He is the kind of character that looks out for himself, but really has a secret softspot for his oathbrother, though he would be the last person to ever admit it. I find this very appealing in Keiro, which is good because there is not much that is appealing about him. Keiro is not one of many redeeming qualities.

Okay, so my rating. I rate Sapphique a 7/10. That is just my personal opinon, though. I did like the book, but it's not like reading it changed my life or anything. I DO recommend these two books- Incarceron and Sapphique -to any reader that is a big fan of fantasy and adventure and does not put a lot of weight on romance aspects of books. Maybe even if you do, actually, because the love IS there, you just have to really look for it.

All right, so that was the review! Moving on. . .

I got wonderful news yesterday! I opened my e-mail and what did I find? An e-mail saying that I won an ARC of Transcendence by CJ Omololu! This is a big deal for me. I enter a bunch of giveaway/contest thingies for books, and I haven't won any of them. Until now, that is. I am so happy about this! Okay, now before I begin to brag, I'll move on.

I shall give you my Reading List for my next 4 reading endeavors!
1. The Dark Divine by Bree Despain
2. Take Me There by susane Colasanti
3. Dark Souls by Paula Morris
and
4. Amy&Roger's Epic Detour by Morgan Matson
**Please note that when I get Between by cyndi Tefft, it will go directly to the top of this list. Just sayin'.**

Okay, so I THINK that was it. . . Yeah, it seems so. I cannot think of anything else I planned to say right now. So I will bid you all good day and thank you for checking out my blog. Please come again. 'Tis a beautiful day outside, Friends. I shall go do something in it? Maybe.

Until next time, Friends!

Sneaking Candy into Movie Theatres...

Yup. I am one of THOSE people who sneak candy into theatres. I can't help it; the candy they sell at the establishment is always super overpriced. I'd rather save some money and bring my own Twizzlers, thanks. Okay, now you're probably wondering why I'm even talking about this. Well because I'm going to see a movie later, silly! I'm going to see Act of Valor. Apparently it's some war movie...? My mom wants to see it, and my brother and his wife have already seen it and liked it, so we're going to see it together. I don't remember even seeing prviews for this one, so it should be interesting for me.

Moving on, I (finally) went to the library today! Therefore, I now have a few books to add to my TBR list:
Take Me There by Susane Colasanti
Dark Souls by Paula Morris
Amy & Roger's Epic Detour by Morgan Matson (ACTUALLY, this one will be a reread since I already read this book over the summer. I loved it, so I want to read it again!)
And last, but certainly not least:
The Dark Divine by Bree Despain

That last one I chose because today is a very special day for the author: today is the release day of the last book in The Dark Divine trilogy- The Savage Grace! So I thought I should probably read this trilogy. Better late than never, right? I'll probably review these books individually instead of as a whole trilogy like I did Nightshade and The Demon's Lexicon, but I'm not sure yet. . . we'll see how it goes. I only have the first one checked out of the library so far which leads me to predict I'll do the reviews seperately. But again I say: we'll see.

So, I was thinking yesterday, and I realized that we are really getting into book release season. I mean, honestly. There are so many books coming out in May, and I know of a few in April too. A few of the books I am personally waiting for in May are:
Shine by Jeri Smith-Ready (the last in the Shade trilogy)- May 1, 2012
Until I Die by Amy Plum (sequel to Die For Me)- May 8, 2012
and
Endure by Carrie Jones (last book in Need series)- May 8, 2012

For the record: I know that all three of those books are in series or are sequels. I'm just saying that those are a few books that I am looking forward to in the month of May. Later in the summer, I certainly have some stand alone books that I am excited for. I'll list those some other time, though.

Now, for my last piece of good news (if I even had any good news before this...?). You all know that book called Between by Cyndi Tefft that I have been yapping about for abnout a week now? (see my other posts, I've mentioned this book in a few of them) Well my parents said I could get it! *this is where the angels start singing* I am so happy! The only catch: I have to wait until the beginning of next month for it. So now I am waiting. I am not a very patient person. But I shall deal! If you haven't heard my convincing argument on how every single person who reads any of my blog posts should read Between, then. . . READ IT. Come on, there is a super attractive male Scottish male character named Aiden MacRae. I don't know about you, but that alone is enough to prompt me to read it. Plus, did you notice I said SCOTTISH. As in- SCOTTISH ACCENT. Dude, an accent! So appealing. Ah, I love accents. Throw an accent on an attractive male character and I am a happy gal. Anyways, I'll be reading it sometime and I will review it and actually have true credibility of recommending it instead of just my strong tingly feeling in my tummy whenever I think of that book and Aiden MacRae♥

Last piece of business- I am currently reading Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake. I am just shy of 100 pages in, and have no actual opinion of this book so far. It seems promising, though. The story's really starting to unfold. And that's all I'm going to say on that front.

All right, blog readers. This is all I have to say right now. I now have to go email my bestest friend. I won't promote my Twitter this time, but if you want to check it out, I told y'all my username in my last few posts. As always, thank you al for taking the time to read my rambling blog! I am truly grateful.

Until next time, Friends!

I Have a (kind-of) Plan!

What do I have a plan about you ask? Why I have a reading plan! And by that I mean that I have a plan on the next, like, three? books I'm going to be reading. Ready? Here it is:

1. Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi (I currently reading this and almost finished)
2. The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin
3. Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake
4. Sapphique (sequel to Incarceron) by Catherine Fisher

These are all the books sitting on my "Need to Read" shelf in my room. There's usually more, but. . . well, I read them. I'm going to the library on Saturday after my SAT (I am so sacred) so I'll probably pick up a couple more to hold me over during my spring break which is... next week! After my SAT I am free as a bird for a whole nine days. Thank goodness!

As I said, I am currently reading Shatter Me, and I refuse to actually start on my opinion of this book because if I do, I will be unable to stop. I am going to write the review for this book TOMORROW after I finish it today. And I WILL finish it today. Of this I am certain. I do not have the self control to hold it off any longer.

I also feel the need to recommend a book. This is probably silly because I haven't even read this book - YET - but I'm going to say this because just talking about this book gives me a warm and tingly feeling and that's usually a good sign for me. I have a naturally good taste in books, what can I say? ;) I think we should all read Between by Cyndi Tefft. It involves a Scottish male which means something wonderful. ACCENT! If there were ever a reason to read a book, that would probably be it. (well, I kind of kidding here...). Either way, I think this book should be read by many, many people, myself included. I DO plan to read it sometime. I just haven't yet because my library does not have it and that's usually my main source of books, and I do not own an ereader or nook or anything, and I have not actually seen the book at B&N or anything and I do not have enough money to order it, so. . . yeah. Regular life dilemmas. I am figuring it out, though. Looking into PDF format to read on my computer. . . ANYWAYS, am 100% serious when I recommend Between. It looks like a book I can fall in love with. (I actually think I already did, and I haven't even read it yet!) So, yeah.

Okay, so I think that's it. . . if anyone checking out my blog does not already follow me on Twitter, then you should totally try it! @makesmeworse12 (don't ask, it's. . .actually, go ahead and ask if you want.) Now I am off to do other things! (SAT practice questions. . .) Bye, friends! :)
