Today is our last post in the Fun Hop! So we thought we'd do something non-bookish for this one so that y'all can get to know US better. Sort of like the introductions on the first day, except this one is probably more fun. For Shock Me Saturday, we will tell y'all FIVE random facts about ourselves that you'd probably not guess. So, let's learn some weird things, shall we? Fact #1: Do not judge me for this. Seriously.I have not read the Harry Potter books.
I really tried to read the first one, but . . . um, I got bored and, um . . . gave up. So, yeah. Fact #2Contrary to popular belief, English is not actually my best class. My best class is math (this year it was Algebra II) which I have maintained 100 average in all year.
Fact #3I am a technological idiot.
I mean, I know that I SEEM to know what I'm doing, but really I'm lucky that anything I post on here works. I have no clue what I'm really doing a majority of the time. Fact #4My favorite song of the moment is called "The A Team" by Ed sheeran and I am listening to it RIGHT. NOW.
Why is this shocking? Eh, well. Fact #5I'm not a vegetarian, but I WILL NOT eat hamburger. Like, anything with hamburger meat. Or anything that kind of reminds me of hamburgers or whatever. I just dislike it to the millionth degree. All right, I have decided to give you guys a few extra facts for a couple reasons that, blieve it or not, are beyond my control. (I have CERTAIN people demanding I add these facts--I have an annoying brother, hehe.) Extra Fact #1I have a small tendency to turn the A/C up SUPER high because I get reeeeally cold sometimes--like, seriously frozen--and then I forget to turn it back down to normal tempuratures thusforth causing the house to become horribly warm. I must point out that I always realize my mistake and fix it, albeit after the house gets somewhat not-so-comfy. Extra Fact #2I aso have a teeny tendency to walk around the house singing the same song over and over and over again. Usually the song that is stuck in my head. Which currently brings us back to fact #4 . . . Extra Fact #3I can't sleep with socks on. At all. I don't know why, but that's just the way I am. Apparently, this is weird or something? Extra Fact #4It does not matter what time of year it is, I will always be singing Christmas Carols. "In the meadow we can build a snowman . . . " Again, I hear that this is an odd quality and have been coerced (if that's even how you spell it) into adding it to my list. What can I say? I LOVE CHRISTMAS. And that's all for my facts, y'all! Time for you to go see what all the other bloggers are shocking us with!http://kissedbittenbybooks.blogspot.co.uk/

Trilogy Thursday! I'm kind of excited to make this post because it was partly my idea :)This is where we pick three trilogies, rate them, and say three things we love about them! Lets begin, shall we? This first trilogy is one we all know is going to be mentioned at some point, so I thought I'd just begin with it. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
Rating: 5 STARS (of course)
- PEETA. I love that boy. He is so incredibly sweet. I've said this before, and I'll say it again: I will never understand how anyone can ever pick Gale over Peeta. I just can't comprehend this.
- The rest of the AMAZING characters. Cinna, Haymitch, Finnick . . . the characters in thsi trilogy were marvelous. Oh, and President Snow--the ultimate villain ;)
- The Games. The Games were positively riveting to read. They were so different from other things I'd usually read (at the time--I read The Hunger Games years ago) and that only made the book a great experience. This trilogy definitely opened my interest to lots of other YA books.
Next is a trilogy you may or may not have knows about before now. The Forbidden Game by L.J. Smith
(Yeah, one of those trilogies you can buy all in one book!)Rating: 3 STARS
- JULIAN. I always love the bad boy, whether 'm on his team or not. In this case, I wasn't really sure what team I was on until the end, but I'm not going to share this with y'all. My point here: Julian was the bad boy who has a weakness. Those weaknesses are what I love.
- I really liked the idea in this book. The idea of these games becoming reality. Very amusing and fun to read.
- Why, if I mentioned Julian, I have to mention TOM, now don't I? I will not show bias. Plus, Tom is the steady guy. Steadiness is never--never ever--a bad thing.
Now for our last trilogy! The reason I created my blog to begin with: The Demon's Lexicon by Sarah Rees Brennan
Rating: 5 STARS! (duh)
- NICK! NickNickNickNickNick! I loved that dude! I have a bunch "Hey, Nick" statements that are always fun to Tweet from time to time. A wonderful character, him.
- The demons! I don't read stories with demons all that often, so this trilogy was a great way to switch it up a bit.
- Mae! She was such a great female character. I am always SO picky toward the girls in books, but Mae was one that I certainly will not complain about.
I LOOOOOOVED The Demon's Lexicon trilogy. If you haven't read it yet, DO IT NOW. All right, that's it for my leg of today's posts in this Fun Hop. Y'all should go see what everyone else posted!http://kissedbittenbybooks.blogspot.co.uk/

Welcome back to the Fun Hop! Today is What?! Wednesday! What is that, you ask? Why, this is where we tell y'all about three books that shocked us to our core and why. So, THIS is your WARNING. **WARNING: THIS POST HAS SPOLIERS**That's kind of the whole point of this post. So I am breaking my rule of no spoilers this one time. And now you have been warned . . . ;) My first book that shocked me was:BETWEEN by Cyndi Tefft
As you all probably know, I LOVED this book. Most of this love springs from Aiden MacRae, of course, but another part of this love comes from the huge turn-around in the middle of this book that I was positively not expecting. I don't know what I was expecting in this book, exactly. Maybe I expected Lindsey and Aiden to go to heaven together or something? I'm not sure. But whatever I WAS expecting, it was not for Lindsey to live again. And then take Aiden to the living world with her. That shocked me, and I loved it! I love when things happen that I don't expect. Next, we have . . .DELIRIUM by Lauren Oliver
Honestly, I was going to list Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver here instead, because I was not expecting Sam to die in that one, but then I realized WAIT. Lauren has an even bigger shocker to tell y'all about. I absolutely hated the ending of this book. The rest of this book was marvelous. I enjoyed it completely. But the ending was horrid. Nevertheless, the ending was also a HUGE shock. Seriously, my jaw-dropped. I cried. It was devastating. I did not expect Alex to *sniffle* DIE. He was one of the main characters. And I mean IMPORTANT main characters. The kind of main character that we never expect anything as horrible as death to happen to. Until it does. (For the record, I have yet to read the sequel to this book: Pandemonium. Just thought I'd say this.) Last, we have . . .We'll Always Have Summer by Jenny Han
I know, you are all probably shocked that this book is on this list. But, oh, this book really belongs here. I was a million percent SHOCKED when we found out that Jeremiah cheated on Belly. I know I've made it clear that I am Team Conrad. And I am, I really am. But I did feel for Jere and want the best for him. I loved him, too. And never in a million years would I have pegged him for the cheating type. That would probably be because he's really not that type. Which makes what he did that much more shocking! I. LOVED. THIS. TRILOGY. SO. MUCH.It hurts my heart, but it is so amazing. All right, everyone. Those are my three WHAT?!s. Now you shold hop on along to see what my fellow Fun Hop bloggers have listed as they're shocking books:http://kissedbittenbybooks.blogspot.co.uk/

For the third day on this little Fun Hop, we're doing Top Tuesday! This is where we will all pick our own topics to choose our top five of. So, what am I doing my Top five of? ♥Top Five Male Characters♥Yeah. I said it. because I'm me, and clearly obsessed with the guys within books, I decided to do my top five on what I know. Like that saying, "Write what you know." For the record, this Top Five is only my Top Five AT THE MOMENT. This is always subject to change and stuff as time goes on and my mind shifts and changes and explodes with new/different awesomeness. So, let's see my Top Five, yes? 5. Conrad Fisher♥
Yeah, one of the Fisher boys from The Summer Trilogy by Jenny Han. If you've read these books, you know that it is impossible not to fall in love within the pages. Some of you are probably screaming at me right now about how Jere is better and sweeter and HOW COULD I PICK CONRAD OVER HIM?!?!! And the answer is simple: I go with my gut. I've always felt for Jere, by Conrad was always my #1 in this trilogy. Which means he makes this list. 4. Dimitri Belikov♥
Oh, Dimitri. Vampire Academy was a truly amazing series. So smazing, actually, that I haven't even read Bloodlines yet. I'm too afriad to disrupt the fragile peace I have made with the fact that VA was over. I will read it someday, but for now . . . well, for now I have Dimitri. And now y'all are wondering why I didn't pick Adrian. I loved Adrian, I really did, but Dimitri won at the end of that series for me. 3. Peeta Mellark♥
Um, does this one really need an explanation? IT"S PEETA FLIPPING MELLARK! 'Nuff said, right there. And as for why I didn't choose Gale--I didn't like Gale. A good friend, but that's it. I was never on his team, and I never considered joining his team. I was all Peeta, all the way. Because Peeta is AMAZING. 2. Christophe Reynard♥
If you have no clue who Christophe is, then I am seriosuly crying for you right now. You MUST--must must must--get your hands on the Strange Angels series by Lili St. Crow and read until you reach the end. Because these books are seriously that awesome. And dear ole CHRISTOPHE (OH, CHRISTOPHE) is my snapping boooooy in these books. And in all books, clearly. Once we met him, I really began to get into this series. He just makes everything better! He whispers comfoting words I don't understand and keeps his promises and gets things done. Of all the characters in this series, I miss him the most. (Yeah, even more than Dibs or Shanks--surprising, but true.) And why not Graves? Same answer as "why not Gale?" Because I've always loved Chris more. Plus, Graves bothered me a bit. So dependent and whiny. Don't get me wrong, he had some wonderful traits, but compared to Christophe, well, he faded. All right. Now it's time for number one, and I'm pretty sure we can all guess who it's going to be . . . 1. Daemon Black♥
Yep, we all saw it coming. Now this one REALLY doesn't need an explanation. I must say, though, that all of my Daemon-love comes soley from following the 30 Days of Damon Tour:
There is a lot of Daemon swoon-ish-ness going on in this tour, and I positively CANNOT wait to read Obsidian! It really must be something if this guy made such a huge impression on me BEFORE I EVEN READ THE BOOK. Yeah. True story. So, that, my friends, is my Top Five list. I wonder what the other blogs in this Fun Hop are listing . . . YOU should totally keep on hopping along and find out!http://kissedbittenbybooks.blogspot.co.uk/

Welcome back for another day of MEEEE on this Fun Hop! Today, my dear friends, is Mash up Monday! What does that mean? Well, today I shall be telling y'all about two characters I'd love to put into a story together and why. Since I'm me, this could be very interesting. . . or very boring. It depends on the day. So, who'd I mash into a story together?
Well, OF COURSE I had to throw Daemon Black into this. We ALL should have seen that coming.
Ah, isn't he so nice to look at? *sigh* Ahem. . . okay, I'll stop swooning and move on now. Who would I throw him into a story with? Y'all can probably guess this one, too. Who would be the most perfect character to throw into a story with DAEMON? Another Damon, of course! (Though the spelling IS different. . .)
Damon Salvatore. The wonderful, wonderful vampire. Now you all may be wondering WHY I would want to throw these two amazing, gorgeous, swoon-worthy, attractive males into a story together. Well, I believe I just gave you the answer. Because they are:-AMAZING-GORGEOUS-SWOON-WORTHY-ATTRACTIVE-SOOO MANY OTHER THINGS I'M NOT GOING TO LIST BECAUSE YOU SHOULD ALREADY KNOW Yeah. Plus, they both have very . . . strong personalities. I'd love to see how they act with each other.Personally, I think I'd be Team Daemon for this. Which Da(e)mon would YOU root for? Answer in the comments if you'd like! Okay, now that we've seen my mash up, y'all should totally go check out everyone else's! I wonder how many of them are using Daemon, too. . .http://kissedbittenbybooks.blogspot.co.uk/

Heeeeey, everybody! I posted What I Got just like always earlier today, but other than that, this week will be soley devoted to this little Fun Hop. It's to help out bloggers who have this week full of hard schoolish things because we all know that it is nearing the end of the year. And what does that mean? Well, it means final exams and final projects and other stressful things. So instead of taking a whole week off, we're hopping! Today is the first day of our Fun Hop, and this is for Salutation Sunday! So I will tell y'all a little bit about myself. Things that are NOT in the "About Me" tab. An introduction, if you will. So, here goes! Hey, I'm Jessica! I'm 16 and run a lovely little book blog (which you all obviously know). I have three brothers and three nephews. I grew up in Buffalo, NY, but moved to Austin, TX about two years ago. (Well, not exactly Austin, but super close by there!)I seriously miss Buffalo, where my closest friends are and where it actually, you know, SNOWS. I loooove snow. It is beautiful and wonderful and it SPARKLES. Really, it does. but while I miss Buffalo, Texas hasn't been exactly bad for me, either. I've met quite a few authors since I've moved here and have made some super awesome best friends! They can't replace my other friends, but they help with the whole moving-across-the-country-while-in-high-school thing. Really, moving across the country while in high school STINKS. Like a skunk, but in a figurtive sense. I try to be a nice person because nice people are just pure AWESOME. I know some seriously great people and would love for others to think of me the way I think of them.I'm a huge Yankee, Paramore, Spongebob, Taylor Swift, ADTR, Literary Exploration, Daemon Black, (fill in more awesome things here) fan!All right, this "salutation" is getting somewhat long . . . so I guess I'll leave it at this. If there is something y'all would like to know or need help with or anything, you can totally contact me and I'll answer/do my best to help! I promise, I don't bite or anything. Okay, so that was my first post in this Fun Hop! I hope it wasn't a total bore to read. I'm kind of a boring person. (Well, unless you know me well enough--then you find me HILARIOUS.) Buuuuut, you should totally check out the other blogs in this hop! I'm sure they're much more interesting than me:http://kissedbittenbybooks.blogspot.co.uk/
