Stone Cold Touch by Jennifer L. Armentrout
 Release Date: October 28, 2014
Publisher: Harlequin Teen
Series: The Dark Elements #2

Synopsis:
Every touch has its price

Layla Shaw is trying to pick up the pieces of her shattered life—no easy task for a seventeen-year-old who’s pretty sure things can’t get worse. Her impossibly gorgeous best friend, Zayne, is forever off-limits thanks to the mysterious powers of her soul-stealing kiss. The Warden clan that has always protected her is suddenly keeping dangerous secrets. And she can barely think about Roth, the wickedly hot demon prince who understood her in ways no one else could.

But sometimes rock bottom is only the beginning. Because suddenly Layla’s powers begin to evolve, and she’s offered a tantalizing taste of what has always been forbidden.  Then, when she least expects it, Roth returns, bringing news that could change her world forever. She’s finally getting what she always wanted, but with hell literally breaking loose and the body count adding up, the price may be higher than Layla is willing to pay…

"Constantly entertaining...the narrative sizzles with as much tension as romance."

Last time we got Roth on the cover, and now we've got Zayne. Hmm. I am Team Roth through and through, but I honestly think I like this cover more than the White Hot Kiss cover. I like how their poses make sense, how she was practically kissing Roth because she COULD. You know, without taking his soul and all. And now she's turning her face away from Zayne because she CAN'T kiss him. You know, without taking his soul. And all. I was skeptical about the first cover, since it kind of felt way out of left field for a paranormal romance about gargoyles, but I like how now we're starting to see this logic behind the covers. Also, I think I prefer the blue-ish teal.

OKAY SO NOW FOR THE FREAKING SYNOPSIS. I was in class what I read that (because I'm a rebel) and I legit gasped out loud when I got to the part about Roth. Do you know how I cried over the ending to WHK? This synopsis makes me feel better. Kind of. I'm still terrified, because there's obviously going to be more Zayne in this book (I think) and I want Rooooooth. But still. I have more hope now. Maybe I'll even be able to listen to Paradise City without wanting to cry now!

What do you think of the cover and the synopsis and ALL OF THE THINGS?!

  1. I just finished White Hot Kiss last week in less than a day! Love this new series. It is interesting that Zayne is on the cover with this one but happy to hear Roth will be back as implied in book 1!
