MYTHOLOGY Blog Tour: Character Interview!

Welcome to my stop on the Mythology blog tour! To see a full schedule for the tour (because, um hey, you wanna fallow along. It's kind of awesome. Seriously), you can click HERE!

So today, I have a character interview for you. A pretty darn AWESOME character interview, if you ask me.

With who, you ask?

Well it's not Hope. And it's not Micah.

I HAVE A CHARACTER INTERVIEW WITH JONATHAN!!!!

So I'll show you this awesomeness now. Because I love it.

Character Interview:

Hey, Jonathan! Welcome to my little blog. Thank you SO MUCH for agreeing to stop by. I was literally BESIDE MYSELF when I got the email about this tour. You were my first choice for a character interview, by the way.
Thank you for having me. I am most grateful
All right, before I get into all the interview-y, question-y stuff, I just thought you should know that I’ve already called dibs on you. YOU ARE MINE. Okay? OKAY.
If you insist ;)  But an eternity is a long time to “call dibs” on somebody. Just something to consider.
I want to start with a question about YOU, Jonathan. So let’s start with one that’s always fun for me—describe yourself in five words or less. Please.
Enjoying the immortal life.
Tell us one completely random thing about you. Because randomness? Is SO MUCH FUN.
I had an older brother, but he was only mortal and passed on from this world several centuries ago. Oh, and my real last name is really Drapier. I do apologize – that was two things.
(In case you had no noticed, I am very fond of CAPS.)
I may have noticed…
What song do you wish you were listening to RIGHT NOW? You know, if you weren’t to be having oodles of fun here with me.
All the Sand in All the Sea by DeVotchka
Personally, I’m listening to Let It Be by The Beatles. I blame Tahereh Mafi. Ever since I met her in May, this song has been stuck in my brain because she had to randomly mumble the words while answering a question. The worst part? She probably doesn’t even remember it. (The whispering part, not the being in Austin part.)
*nods as though I understand this*
Whoa. I got all self-centered there, didn’t I? Aw, snap. Back to you, Jonathan. I must say, I really liked Hope’s nickname for you, before she knew you were JONATHAN. Fiery Eyes. But now I’m going to ask a question totally unrelated to that (because I can): “There are rules, and then there are rules.” That was the first quote I highlighted from you in this book. Explain it to me? Like, what it means to YOU?
It means that being a guardian comes with certain responsibilities, and that I fulfill those to the best of my abilities. Any thing else goes, in my book. I may be a guardian “angel,” but I’m far from a saint.
Okay, so. Hope. When you first met her, you were mighty mysterious. What did you think of her that first time in the gallery? What was going through your head?
I noticed Hope because of an indefinable quality that she held. I actually am not at liberty to say more than this until after MYTHOLOGY: THE WICKED is released, and then you will find the answer to this question. I apologize for being such a tease.
What is your favorite thing about Hope?
Her optimism despite all that she has faced. I have the utmost faith in her to continue to face the challenges that come her way in her life.
What’s your favorite thing about Micah?
His stubbornness. That may sound strange, but his stubbornness and steadfast commitment to what he believes is what will save his soul in the end, I’m sure of it.
If you were to have a pet tiger, what would you name him? (Don’t even try—it is DEFINITELY a HIM. Because that is what I say he is. He is also exceedingly adorable. But in a vicious way.)
Morpheus.
Complete this sentence: “If I had a dollar for every time I _______, I would be able to buy Jessica all the books on her wishlist.” (We’re just going to assume that’s what you’d do with the dollars. I’m not creative enough to think of anything better than that. Plus, books are kind of awesome.)
…saved a soul.
Okay, now back to Hope—describe her in five words or less, please.
An exemplary human being.
Describe Micah in five words or less. Please?
Good against all odds
Describe ME in five words or less. Pretty please with sugar on top?
Quite lovely and most entertaining.
Fun fact: Buffalo. I’m from there. Is it just me or is that AWESOME. We’ve probably breathed the same air at some point. Before today, I mean. (I don’t mean that in the creepy way it sounds. Forgive me.)
That is quite remarkable. Did you enjoy reading about your home town? Do forgive me. I am not conducting the interview here.
If you had to rate this interview on a scale from 1-10, what would you rate it and why? (DON’T MAKE ME CRY, SIR.) Oh, and this question doesn’t mean the interview is over. Just saying.
10 for sheer entertainment value. And add another point on top of that for your originality and customized questions. I do appreciate the time you took to think of interesting questions.
Okay, now let’s do some favorites!
Food? Coq au vin
Song? Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd
Movie? Angels and Demons ;)
Band? I have too many to choose from. My playlist is quite extended.
Person? Will Shakespeare. Or did you mean someone who is currently living?
Color? Black
Sports Team? At the moment, the Buffalo Sabres. Out of all of the team sports, hockey probably appeals to my nature the most.
Book Blogger? Naturally Jessica Baker for her wonderfully unique interviews. But I mustn’t neglect to mention my dear book bloggers Megan Elliott and Jasmine Patterson, who started a book blogging site dedicated to Mythology and the Amaranthine series by Elise Valente.

So. Jonathan. There’s going to be a sequel to the wonderful, wonderful Mythology. Can you tell us anything about it? Even just a teeny, tiny thing?
Yes, there is a sequel that is coming out late summer/early fall. I will tell you that it will pose even greater challenges to all of us. And be edgier and have more sizzle than book one (those are the adjectives I’ve heard my author use in her interviews, by the way).
This is where we’re nearing the end of the interview and I start getting all whiny because I DO NOT WANT IT TO END. So….are you Team Peeta or Team Gale?
Team Gale, naturally. Dark, brooding, loyal.
Okay, okay. Is there anything else you want to add real quick before we say our goodbyes? Remember—randomness is SO MUCH FUN.
I despise airplane travel. (You did say random and did not say it had to be relevant.)
All right. I shall let you go now. Thank you so, so, SOOOOO much for stopping by the blog and putting up with me. You are awesome! Also, you should totally stop by the blog again. Soon. Like, super soon. Because you are totally welcome. Any time. SERIOUSLY.
Thank you, my dear. Perhaps you will have me back when the second book of the series comes out? I do appreciate you having me. *kisses your hand*

~~~
And that is where the interview ended and I nearly swooned to death. So..yeah. Moving on...
(HOLY CRAP HE IS SO GREAT HE IS MINE AND OHMYGOSH FLAILING)
  3. I really seriously love the artsy cover! It's interesting to have ones that don't have real models on there. The Interview made me laugh like mad! Jonothan seems.... interesting * backs away quickly expecting a "HE'S MINE" outburst.
