Character Interview With Aiden!
Aiden
MacFreakingRae. HEY! Welcome to my blog! I am so happy to have you here!!
MacFreakingRae? I like that.
Before
we actually start this, I must warn you that my randomness factor is
extraordinarily high. So just go with it, okay? OKAY. J
Of course. I’d expect nothing less.
So,
Aiden. How is life? Are you doing well?
At this moment, aye, all is well, though Cyndi Tefft
left us in a wee bit of a precarious position at the end of this latest
adventure. Still, I have Lindsey by my side, so I canna complain.
And
how is Lindsey?
She amazes me: so strong and confident in the face
of trials. She’s a fighter, that one.
So,
Aiden. My dear, dear Aiden. You are aware that I adore your accent, yes?
Because I do.
Many thanks, lass. Lindsey’s mentioned an affection
for it a time or two herself.
What
would you say is your favorite thing about yourself? Goodness knows I have a
nice, long LIST of favorite things about you…but what is YOURS?
Och… *scratching my head* ‘Tis difficult, no? Er,
were I to be forced to choose (and that IS what ye’re doing here, is it not?),
I suppose I’d have to say I’m right fair at reading people. ‘Tis what makes me
able to slay an opponent at cards, or anticipate the next move in a fight.
Watching others often tells me more than they’d like me to know.
If
I were to give you a pet tiger (because I’m AWESOME enough to do that,
obviously), what would you name him and why? (Don’t even try to make this tiger
a girl. He is a boy. Because I say he is. He is also incredibly vicious and
cute. Grrrrrrr.)
I’ve always wanted a pet tiger! Think of the havoc
we could get wreak. *daydreams* This tiger, he is fierce and strong, but adores
a scratch behind the ears. Cairn, I’ll call him, as strength in the present
comes from remembering the past.
Describe
Lindsey in five words or less, please?
Home. Mine. Forever.
What
is your favorite thing about Lindsey—if you had to choose ONE thing?
Her smile. I could never tire of seeing it.
So
you’re from a loooooooooong time ago. How did it feel to suddenly be in OUR
time?
Like being sucked through a swirling vortex where up
is down and black is white, where everything I thought I knew had changed. I
wouldn’t recommend it, honestly, but I’ve done the best I can to adapt.
And
how are you doing with the…integration from past to present? (Is integration
the right word? I feel like it’s wrong, but it looks right…)
I’ll not lie; it has been challenging, but Lindsey
is ever so patient, explaining things to me and bringing me through it. I have
my feet under me now, but still, much remains to be learned. ‘Tis why I love
grooming horses at Ian’s. Horses never change from one millennia to the next.
What’s
your favorite thing about NOW (the present) compared to THEN? (Besides Lindsey.
I mean, like, THINGS. Unless you want to say me. Then I’ll let it slide.) ;)
You, nae doubt! Well, I am also right fond of
chocolate. We didna have much in my day.
Fill
in the blank of this sentence, please: “If I were to get a dollar every time I
______, I would have enough money to buy Jessica more books than her room can
hold because books are fantastic and Jessica is my favorite.”
“caught a woman’s eye in my kilt” – The lasses seem
to adore my kilt. Why don’t the lads wear them? *shakes my head*
I
understand that you’re with Lindsey, but you and I are totally best friends.
Seriously. I officially declare it so. I CALL BEST FRIEND DIBS.
Duly noted. *scribbles it on a napkin*
What
is…I just almost asked the same question twice. Awww, snap! Different question
from the one I was about to repeat now—can you describe yourself in five words
or less from me, please?
Blessed. Always learning. In love.
And
now, just for fun, describe ME in five words or less, pretty please?
Wild. Free. Enthusiastic. Lovely.
If
you had to pick one food to live off of for the rest of your life (goodness,
wouldn’t that suck? I mean some foods are fantastic, but it would get so old
after a while…) what would it be?
Taties n’ eggs! I told Lindsey I would eat them
every day, and I did not lie. Mmmmm.
So,
I’m listening to this song right now, and for some reason I feel like you need
to listen to it. So look up “I Will Follow You Into the Dark” by Death Cab for
Cutie sometime, okay? And then tell me what you think.
“If there’s no one beside you when your soul
embarks, then I’ll follow you into the dark.” Lovely melody, but there’ll
always be a transporter there waiting for ye, lass. Dinna fash about that.
All
right, could you rate this interview (SO FAR—it’s not over yet, my friend) on a
scale from 1-10? Why did you choose that number. (DON’T YOU MAKE ME CRY,
AIDEN.)
11! Ye get one extra point for not asking me what I
wear under my kilt.
Oh,
what’s your favorite color? And when is your birthday? Just curious…
Green (the color of Lindsey’s eyes). May 1, 1699.
What
is your favorite thing to do in your spare time? (Keep it decent, sir, there is
a lady present.)
Nothing compares with saddling up a horse and giving
her her head so she’s free to run through the countryside. Well, unless it’s
having Lindsey on the mare with me as we go.
Hehehehehe,
this was fun! But sadly the interview is just about over…THIS IS ALWAYS MY
LEAST FAVORITE PART WAAAAAHHHH.
Say it isn’t so!
Is
there anything you can say about the fourth book? You may be as cryptic as you
like.
Only that it will be… what’s the word? Ah, that’s
it. EPIC.
Now,
before you go, is there anything AT ALL you’d like to say? The randomer the
better. Randomness is so much fun!
Utili-kilts are not truly kilts. There, I said it.
*whew* I feel better.
Thank
you so, so much for dropping by, Aiden! I appreciate it more than I can say.
You are definitely welcome back any time. Seriously, just say the word and you
are SOOOOOOOO in.
Thank ye for hosting our wee chat!
Also,
don’t forget I’m your new best friend. That means you can’t just disappear into
thin air. THAT IS NOT NICE, SIR.
*nods solemnly*
Okay,
seriously, thank you so much for dropping by and I’d love to have you back
again sometime!
Anything for my new
best friend, aye? *grin*
(The interview's over, but I have to break in and say that THAT was so freaking awesome! Eeeeeep!)

Description from Goodreads:
I thought it was over, that all our troubles were behind us.
We had a fairytale castle wedding surrounded by family and friends. Aiden wore a dress kilt, looking so handsome it made my heart squeeze, and I floated on air in a white version of the ball gown he’d cast for me in Versailles. Flower girl, ring bearer, Scottish ceilidh afterward—check, check, and check. It was perfect.
We were supposed to live happily ever after.
But that was before I walked in to find another woman in his bed, a demon with blood red eyes who’d disguised herself as me in order to get what she wanted most: a child from a heaven transporter.
And it was in that moment—watching my entire world crumble to the ground—that I knew.
This was not over. Not by a long shot.

About the Author
Cyndi Tefft lives with her family in the Pacific Northwest
where the weather is overcast and rainy, much like the Highlands of Scotland.
So she was right at home when she got the chance to visit Eilean Donan
Castle.
A self-proclaimed Scot freak, she loved every bit about the trip to Scotland: the people, the kilts, the accents, the fish & chips, the haggis...well okay, not the haggis.
