About the Book:
If You Leave by Courtney Cole
Release Date: August 6, 2013
Publisher: Forever
Series: Beautifully Broken #2
Description from Goodreads:
26-year old Gabriel Vincent is a badass hero. Or he used to be, anyway. As an ex-Army Ranger, Gabe never thought he needed anyone. But after one horrible night in Afghanistan scars him in a way that he can't get past, he needs someone who can help him heal...even if he doesn't realize it.
25-year old Madison Hill doesn't need anybody...or so she thinks. She grew up watching her parents' messed-up abusive relationship and she knows there's no way in hell that she's ever letting that happen to her.
They don't know it in the beginning, but Gabriel and Madison will soon develop a weakness: Each other.
But Gabriel's got a secret, a hidden monster that he's afraid Maddy could never overcome... And Maddy's got issues that she's afraid Gabe will never understand. They quickly realize that they need each other to be whole, but at the same time they know that they've got demons to fight.
And the problem with demons is that they never die quietly.

Character Interview With Jacey:
Hey,
Jacey! Welcome to my blog!
Thank you so much for having me!
How
are you today, girl? I’m so glad you could stop by :)
*rubs foot*
Well, five inch heels probably weren’t the thing to wear, but other than
that, I’m good. I’m happy to be here
(and sitting down!) J
So,
if you had to pick one thing about Madison, what would you say is your
favorite?
Her heart. She has a bark that is way worse than her
bite…. But really, inside, her heart is soft as hell. And she’s as loyal as the day is long. She’s the best friend anyone could have.
Now,
Gabriel. Ahhh. What’s your favorite thing about him, if you had to choose one?
Ummm. That
he’s mine. My brother, that is. There are way too many good things to pick
out one by one. He’s pretty awesome,
really. But don’t tell him I said that.
He’ll get a big head.
Gabriel’s
your brother and Madison’s your best friend. (Wow, I am totally stating the
obvious right now. Ha.) What was your first thought when you found out they’d
already met that night at the club?
I was like.. it’s about freaking time! I’ve been wanting them to go out for a LONG
time.
You
said you always thought Gabriel and Madison were perfect for each other. Why?
Because Maddy needs someone like Gabe—someone strong
and forceful but that will be soft with her. And I just knew that she’d turn
him to mush—that she’d be good for him.
He was hard around the edges until she softened him up. They’re perfect for each other.
If you were to be stranded on an island and you
could only have three things, what would they be and why? A vat of sunblock because I burn easily and
hey, I won’t be on the island forever. I
don’t want to look like a saddlebag by the time I’m 30. And an iPod so I wouldn’t feel so
lonely. And a piece of flint to make
fire. I don’t even need matches—my
brother taught me all kinds of weird survival shit.
You
and Madison have been best friends for a while—are there any funny stories
about you two? Can you tell us one?
Hmm. Oh—there
was this time when she stayed the night at my grandparents’ cottage with me when
we were in high school and we sneaked out to go down to a beach party. When we sneaked back in, Maddy walked in on
my grandpa in the bathroom. He…uh… was
going. I teased her forever about liking
geriatric penis. It was one of those
things where you had to be there, but it was so funny. She couldn’t look my grandpa in the eye for
weeks. And he never asked her why she
was completely dressed at 3am!
OH!
As Gabriel’s sister, do you have any funny stories there to tell us? Please?
When he was about… oh, six or so, for some reason,
he put on one of our mom’s bras over his shirt and came parading out into the
living room. My mom took a picture of that—which of course I dug out as
blackmail material years later. In high
school, whenever he would mess with me about anything, I’d just threaten to
pull out that picture and show whatever girl he was dating at the time. It was pretty freaking funny. It’s not effective anymore, because Maddy has
seen the picture.
Okay,
okay. Jacey. What is your favorite thing about yourself?
I like that I’m not too rigid. I’m pretty
chill. I pretty much go with the flow.
So…do
you have anything to say about Brand?
Brand?
There’s not much to say. I love
him. He knows that. He’s like my
brother.
All right, let’s do some favorites!
Color? Red
Band?
OneRepublic
Book? The
Fault in Our Stars. I read it whenever I need a good cry.
Food? Indian.
Song?
Counting Stars.
Person? Ha! I
can’t say. My own book will be out soon
and I don’t want to be spoilery. But good try, Jessica. Sneaky!
It’s
just about time for this interview to be over (sadly!), but before we say our
goodbyes, do you have anything to say? It can be as random as you’d like.
Seriously, that random is fun.
I’m scared of chipmunks.
Thank
you SO MUCH for dropping by today, Jacey! You rock, girl!
Thank you so much for
having me! You’re pretty awesome, too!
