Description from Goodreads:
Bad boy, meet bad girl.

Dante has a shiny new cuff wrapped around his ankle, and he doesn't like that mess one bit. His new accessory comes straight from Big Guy himself and marks the former demon as a liberator. Despite his gritty past and bad boy ways, Dante Walker has been granted a second chance.

When Dante is given his first mission as a liberator to save the soul of seventeen-year-old Aspen, he knows he’s got this. But Aspen reminds him of the rebellious life he used to live and is making it difficult to resist sinful temptations. Though Dante is committed to living clean for his girlfriend Charlie, this dude’s been a playboy for far too long…and old demons die hard.

With Charlie becoming the girl she was never able to be pre-makeover and Aspen showing him how delicious it feels to embrace his inner beast, Dante will have to go somewhere he never thought he’d return to in order to accomplish the impossible: save the girl he’s been assigned to, and keep the girl he loves.

I adore Dante Walker. There is no denying that fact, and after reading The Collector I was making some serious grabby hands for book 2. Needless to say, I happy-danced ALL OVER THE PLACE when The Liberator landed in my inbox.

Okay, so it landed in my inbox, and then (after arguing with myself about how fast I should read it) I flew through this book in just a few days. Because this book? WAS FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC.

Character Rundown:
Charlie: Charlie...I'm not sure I liked her as much as I did in the first book. I don't hate her or anything, but she's growing up and it's kind of sad to see that happen. But there are also changes I liked about Charlie, such as the fact that she went a little badass in this one! Yeah, that was cool.

Aspen: Aspen is new, and I had HOPED to like her, but thought she'd bother me. Luckily, though, I ended up loving Aspen. We still have a lot to learn when it comes to this girl, but she was such a great addition to this cast of characters that I have come to love so much.

Dante Freaking Walker: HOW DO I EVEN DO THIS PART? I AM SO LOST.
Okay, that was a lie. I'm not lost. Dante Walker is hot and funny and (even though he doesn't think so) he can be (and IS) a good person. He's not perfect and that's okay. He can be cocky and arrogant, but that's okay, too. Dante is just DANTE. And when all is said and done, I love this boy. His redeeming qualities totally overshadow his unlikeable ones. Ahhhh, and Dante is mine. MINE. <3

Plot. For the first 100-ish pages, things are just getting started. That means there aren't a bunch of things that made me freak out or anything, but the book was still wholly entertaining because Dante Walker is one of the most amusing MCs in the history of forever. He keeps things funny. But then something HUGE happens a little over 100 pages in and the rest of everything is uphill from there. Trust me, as far as sequels go, this one aced it.

Romance. Okay, so you know Dante and Charlie are such a perfectly cute couple. That remains in this book. So I'm going to confirm something else--THERE IS NO LOVE TRIANGLE. I know Victoria Scott told us this, but it was true, and I'm so glad it was. Dante and Charlie are still a couple, and Aspen doesn't mess that up. That's probably part of the reason I liked Aspen so much. ;)

The ending. I actually have nothing to say about this ending other than it leaves me feeling SO hopeful for book 3. Also, I totally think we should make hastag Lucille a thing. #Lucille. Hehehe

Overall, The Liberator was a fabulously wonderful sequel that brought on more Dante and more awesomeness. I am incredibly happy with the way this series is going and can't wait to get my hands on the third book!

  5. I have to admit that I wasn't a huge fan of the first book. I just didn't fall for Dante like everyone else did. However, after reading your review I think I'll give The Liberator a shot. I think I really might start to like all the characters with this one. Great review!
