So, here's the cover and little blurb for The Elite by Kiera Cass, the sequel to The Selection:
Thirty-five girls came to the palace to compete in the Selection. All but six have been sent home. And only one will get to marry Prince Maxon and be crowned princess of Illea.
America still isn’t sure where her heart lies. When she’s with Maxon, she’s swept up in their new and breathless romance, and can’t dream of being with anyone else. But whenever she sees Aspen standing guard around the palace, she is overcome with memories of the life they planned to share. With the group narrowed down to the Elite, the other girls are even more determined to win Maxon over—and time is running out for America to decide.
Just when America is sure she’s made her choice, a devastating loss makes her question everything again. And while she’s struggling to imagine her future, the violent rebels that are determined to overthrow the monarchy are growing stronger and their plans could destroy her chance at any kind of happy ending.

So, I've heard some good and not-so-good opinions of this cover. What do YOU think of it?
Personally, I liked the first cover better. This cover isn't bad or anything, I was just expecting this cover to at least match the fierceness of that one. The cover has nothing to do with the content, though, and I'm still super excited about this book! I can't wait for April. I'm curious...what is this loss she experiences? And please tell me she chooses Maxon. If she doesn't, then I may lose all hope for humanity.
Yeah. I'm that serious about this.
So let me know what you think! Have a happy Friday, everybody!

I guess it depends on the time period. At first glance, I assumed this novel was set in current times. But reading the blurb, it reads as though it's a historical romance. The cover doesn't look historical, so that throws me off a tad.
