Description from Goodreads:
Dry, sarcastic, sixteen-year-old Cam Cooper has spent the last seven years in and out hospitals. The last thing she wants to do in the short life she has left is move 1,500 miles away to Promise, Maine - a place known for the miraculous events that occur there. But it's undeniable that strange things happen in Promise: everlasting sunsets; purple dandelions; flamingoes in the frigid Atlantic; an elusive boy named Asher; and finally, a mysterious envelope containing a list of things for Cam to do before she dies. As Cam checks each item off the list, she finally learns to believe - in love, in herself, and even in miracles.

A debut novel from an immensely talented new writer, The Probability of Miracles crackles with wit, romance and humor and will leave readers laughing and crying with each turn of the page.

I'm glad I picked this as my first read of the summer. The Probability of Miracles is such a sweet, heartfelt book and I loved every second of reading it. While this book has its sadder parts, it also has a lot of fun, carefree moments that never failed to slap a smile on my face.

So, Cam has cancer and her treatments have stopped working. The only hope she really has left is to hope for a miracle. Since Promise, Maine is nutoriously known as a place where miracles happen something like every day, Cam's mom take her and her little sister there for the summer. Well, with a couple of little stops along the way. The stops didn't take up much time, though, and were immensely amusing. Plus, one of these stops sets the stage for our first miracle.

Some things I liked about this book: The miracles. It was amazing, some of the things that happen in this amazing little town. I have to say my favorite of these was the snow in the middle of summer. I LOVE SNOW. So this would be amazing to me. I really liked how hopeful this book is, even if Cam is a huge skeptic who claims to belive in, urm, NOTHING. I also loved the characters, though I'll get more in depth with those in a minute. The characters add a liveliness to the book that make is that much more fun to read.

Character rundown: The main character is Cam, but I'm going to start with Asher. Asher is the "perfect" guy. Capable, confident, *cough* ATTRACTIVE. OH, ASHER. He has some little weaknesses of his own, though, and I really liked seeing those. The imperfections underneath the seemingly perfect guy. His character was just so amazing to me. Now, we have Cam. Her actual name is Cam Chowda, hehe Campbell and I seriously love her name. Honestly, I'm pretty sure I liked Cam even more than Asher. *GASP!* Trust me, I know. I'm usually a swooner. And, yes, I did swoon for Asher, but I still enjoyed Cam's character more. Cam was funny and caring and just a wonderful protaganist. I seriously wish I could read more about her, but alas, this will most likely not happen for several reasons. one of these being that The Probability of Miracles was a stand alone. ;)

I usually don't dwell on too many characters, but the characters were important to me in this book, so I'll tell y'all about a few more. Alicia--Cam's mama, Perry--little sister, Elaine--this lady has so many professions it seriously amazes me, Alec--HUGE JERK French guy, Lily--best friend, and you can discover the rest on your own. My point here: all of these characters make for a truly great book.

The ending. Peaceful. That's the word that comes to mind. I usually whine about how I would love for a book to be longer, and why couldn't it have been longer?, and life would be amazing if this book were longer, but for this book, I think Wendy got it just right. A tear or two and a most lovable ending. Ah, this book just gets me. Aaaaand, I am now officially Team Miracles. I just thought I should add this. Because miracles are MIRACULOUS.

Overall, I seriously enjoyed this book. This was Wendy's first novel, but I will certainly be keeping an eye out for anything more by her in the future. Oh, and YOU SHOULD READ THIS BOOK. All right, that is all.

Have a great day, Friends!
